CLASSIC ICED TEA

Classic Iced Tea image

Kick off any gathering with a refreshing summer sip -- this colorful lemonade-stand upgrade is sure to hit the spot.

Yield Makes about 8 cups

Number Of Ingredients 6

Ingredients

6 bags black tea
8 wide strips lemon zest
8 wide strips orange zest
8 cups boiling water
Ice
Lemon and orange slices (optional)

Steps:

In a large pot, combine black tea, lemon and orange zest, and boiling water. Let steep 8 minutes. Remove tea bags and let cool to room temperature, about 2 hours. Serve over ice with lemon and orange slices if desired.

Found this recipe in my local electric coop monthly magazine. It's really tasty and sooo good and a nice change of pace from regular iced tea. (Number of servings depends on what size glasses you use).

Ingredients

6 tea bags
4 cups boiling water
1 1/2 cups sugar or 1 1/2 cups sugar substitute
1 cup pineapple juice
1 (6 ounce) can frozen orange juice, -- thawed
10 cups cold water
of fresh mint (to garnish) (optional)

Steps:

Steep tea bags in the 4 cups of boiling water for about 5 mins; discard tea bags.
In a one gallon pitcher combine tea and remaining ingredients.
Serve over ice and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint if desired.
