1 pound ground beef
1 egg
¼ cup dry bread crumbs
1 onion, diced
1 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups water
¼ cup distilled white vinegar
3 tablespoons soy sauce

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs and onion. Mix thoroughly and shape into golf ball-sized balls.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, gently brown the meatballs and set aside.
  • In a large saucepan, combine the brown sugar, flour, water, white vinegar and soy sauce. Mix thoroughly. Add meatballs and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring often, for 30 minutes.

1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon ketchup
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 pounds ground beef
3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
SAUCE:
2 tablespoons plus 1-1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 cup orange marmalade
3 to 4 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 garlic cloves, minced

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture. Sprinkle with bread crumbs; mix gently. Shape into 1-in. balls. , Place meatballs on a greased rack in a shallow baking pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until meat is no longer pink; drain. , Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Transfer meatballs to a serving dish; serve with sauce.

1 (20-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 cup peach preserves
1 cup chili sauce
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1/2 orange, zested and juiced
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Neely Dry Rub
1 1/2 pounds ground turkey
1 shallot, minced
1 cup panko (Japanese breadcrumbs)
1 cup grated Parmesan
1 large egg, beaten
1 tablespoon finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
Pinch of red pepper flakes
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • For the sweet and sour sauce: Mix the tomato sauce, peach preserves, chili sauce, sugar, orange zest, orange juice, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and Neely Dry Rub in a medium saucepan. Simmer while you prepare the meatballs.
  • For the meatballs: Combine the turkey, shallot, panko, Parmesan, egg, parsley, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper together in a large bowl and mix well. Shape the mixture into the size of walnuts and place in a single layer in a 13-by-9-inch casserole dish.
  • Pour the sweet and sour sauce over the meatballs, cover with foil, and bake for 35 minutes. Remove the foil and bake 10 minutes more. Serve with decorative bamboo toothpicks.

1 pound ground beef
1 egg
1 onion, chopped
1 cup dry bread crumbs
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup water
½ cup cider vinegar
½ cup ketchup
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine beef, egg, onion, bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Roll into meatballs about 1 to 1 1/2 inches in size.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, saute the meatballs until browned on all sides.
  • In a separate medium bowl, mix together the water, vinegar, ketchup, cornstarch, sugar and soy sauce. Pour over the meatballs, and allow sauce to thicken. Continue to heat until the sauce just starts to bubble.

1 large egg, beaten
1/4 cup whole milk
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
SAUCE:
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 can (20 ounces) unsweetened pineapple chunks, undrained
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 medium green pepper, cut into bite-size pieces

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients; crumble beef over top and mix well. Shape into 1-1/2-in. balls., In a skillet, brown meatballs on all sides, turning often; remove and set aside. Drain fat., For sauce, add the brown sugar and cornstarch to the skillet. Stir in the pineapple, vinegar and soy sauce until blended. Bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Add green pepper; reduce heat. Cover and simmer until tender. This is a crockpot recipe. It has lots of sweet and sour sauce...Yum!!! It looks pretty with meatballs and pineapple chunks. I like to serve it with a crunchy vegetable saute. I almost always use venison in this recipe because the meat is so lean. This is one of dh's favorite foods!

1 lb ground beef or 1 lb venison
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
1 tablespoon canola oil
6 tablespoons white vinegar
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
6 tablespoons cornstarch
1 (15 ounce) can pineapple chunks, undrained
1/2 cup pineapple juice

Steps:

  • Combine meat, egg, salt, pepper, 1 tablespoons cornstarch, and onion (I use a kitchenaid mixer).
  • Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls.
  • Brown in oil in a heavy skillet.
  • Transfer to a crock pot.
  • Mix sauce ingredients: vinegar, sugar, soy sauce and corn starch in a small bowl.
  • Pour over meatballs.
  • Cook on low 6-8 hours or high 2-4, depending how thick you want the sauce, stirring several times.
  • During the last 30 minutes of cooking, add the undrained pineapple and pineapple juice.
  • Serve over rice.

Growing up my brothers n I loved this recipe. We'd fight over who got the most meatballs and over the pineapple bits my dad wouldn't eat. (Haha I always sat next to him so I'd steal them before anyone noticed!)

1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons finely chopped onions

13 1/4-26 1/2 ounces canned pineapple (1-2 cans)
2/3 cup vinegar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 green pepper
1/4-1/2 cup tomato sauce or 1/4-1/2 cup tomato paste

Steps:

  • Meatballs:.
  • Mix all ingredients,shape into balls,cook in oven(350) for around 25minutes.
  • Sauce:.
  • Mix brown sugar and cornstarch in pot,stir in pineapple ,soy sauce and vinegar.
  • Heat to boiling,add ketchup after it thickens.
  • Add to meatballs with green peppers and cook,covered for twenty minutes.
  • Serve over rice.
  • I sometimes add 1 extra tablespoon of cornstarch to make it thicker,and I only use 1 can of pineapple.
  • **Don't substitute Orange Juice for pineapple! My mom did that once and no one liked it.
