BANANA MILKSHAKE
It doesn't have any ice cream but tastes like a milkshake! This is a recipe that my uncle told me about. At first I thought, 'Gross! That sounds terrible!' As it turns out everyone in my family loves it; even my picky sister who hates bananas! This is a recipe for when the kids say, 'Mom can we go to Sonic®? We want a milkshake!' And instead the kids can eat a delicious, healthy, and filling summer snack. The most important direction of all: Enjoy!

SWEET BANANA-CAROB SHAKE
I invented this one morning when I was just dying to combine these ingredients... worked very well, I must say. It's best if you give it 1/2 hour or so in the freezer so it gets more like ice cream than a thick drink.

- If dates have been refrigerated, warm them a bit in the microwave, to make softer and easier to blend.
- Slice the frozen bananas, this helps out your blender :-).
- Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender, and blend till very smooth (you'll have visible flecks of date skin but who cares).
- Pour into 2 mugs and let them sit in the freezer for 20-60 minutes.
- Enjoy your freezy treat!
THICK BANANA SHAKES
I love bananas and these shakes are the best. Though we're stationed overseas, I've fed my two young kids these made-in-moments drinks since they were babies. Pop them into the freezer for a few minutes if you like them thicker. Or try different flavors using chocolate or strawberry ice cream. -Martha Miller, Camp Zama, Japan

BANANA SWEET
Dessert from Brazil. It's my own recipe. I normally make this to save the bananas from going bad. when they start to get black on the outside and your family don't want to eat them, it's the right time to make this recipe.

Steps:
- Put the sugar in a sauce pan and let it melt at medium heat until a brown color. Be careful so it doesn't burn.
- Add the water and it will make the sugar get harder. with a long spoon dissolve it until completely liquid.
- Add the bananas, bring it to boil increasing the heat and then lower it to simmer for 2 hours. It's ready when the bananas are reddish brown color.
- Enjoy it!
- Hints: Because it's too sweet to be served alone, I like to put on top of toasts or cakes You can also serve it with table cream (very popular in Brazil) or cream cheese.
- Some people add cinnamon to this recipe, but you can always add it later on top.
