You must have a pizzelle iron to make these wafer thin cookies. My pizzelle iron is the single cookie iron that you break into 4 triangles.

2 cups margarine
12 eggs
3 cups white sugar
8 teaspoons baking powder
7 cups all-purpose flour
4 tablespoons anise extract

Steps:

  • Mix ingredients in order given. Should be the consistency of a drop cookie.
  • Heat Pizzelle Iron. Drop about 1 heaping teaspoon on hot iron, wait approx. 40 seconds.

5-Ingredient Fix Contest Entry A fast, easy recipe with a "you must have slaved for hours" taste. I enjoy this one due to the fact that the ingredients are those that I usually have on hand. A favorite of my family!

1 (20 ounce) bag Simply Potatoes Diced Potatoes with Onion
1/2 cup bell pepper, diced
1 lb cooked sausage, crumbles
3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • In large bowl combine potatoes, bell pepper, sausage and 1 cup of the cheese and mix well.
  • Pour the potato mixture into a 9 x 13 baking dish/pan.
  • Cut the butter into pieces and place over the top evenly then spread the remaining cup of cheese on the top.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes (make sure cheese on top is melted) and enjoy!

  • Mix all ingredients together and spoon into a 12 x 8 inch baking dish. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes, voila!

1 teaspoon chopped garlic
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon smoked salt
1/4 cup black truffle oil

Steps:

  • Place simply Potatoes with diced onions in large bowl.
  • Pour 1/4 cup black truffle oil on top.
  • Add other seasoning on top.
  • Gently toss everything in bowl, to coat all the potatoes.
  • Add potatoes to fry pan cook over medium heat till potatoes are crisp all the way around -- about 10 minutes stir every few minutes to keep it from burning.

3 lbs cut sirloin beef tips
2 lbs family size container Simply Potatoes Traditional Mashed Potatoes
1/3 cup flour
4 cups water
1/3 cup browning sauce

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet with high sides on medium heat and add the beef tips inches Cook them until they are brown all over.
  • Turn off the heat on the tips and drain any liquids in the pan.
  • Add the Browning Seasoning Sauce to your tips while raising the heat to medium.
  • When the Tips start to sizzle a bit add in the water and wait until it starts to boil.
  • Immediately as it begins to boil turn the heat down to low and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Add flour to tips and continue to simmer on low for another 10 minutes.
  • Begin cooking your Simply Potatoes: Traditional Mashed Potatoes as directed on packaging.
  • Turn heat off tips and allow to cool/thicken (Cook longer if you prefer more tender tips).

Number Of Ingredients 5

24 ounces Simply Potatoes Traditional Mashed Potatoes (cold)
3/4 cup flour
8 ounces Crystal Farms® Shredded Cheddar Cheese (I also like Crystal Farms Pizza Blend)
2 1/2-3 cups breadcrumbs (Panko crumbs preferably)
vegetable oil or canola oil

Steps:

  • Line baking sheet or large plate with wax paper.
  • Pour panko crumbs Into medium bowl.
  • In a large bowl combine mashed potatoes, flour and cheese. Spoon a dollop of mixture into panko crumbs. Coat completely while simultaneously shaping into tater tot shape ( or leave as a ball). If you find dough too sticky to manipulate add a bit more flour. Place tot on wax paper and repeat with remaining potato dough.
  • Heat skillet to medium/medium high heat and add about an inch of oil. Once oil is hot add tater tots. They will turn golden brown on one side ( after a couple minutes) and then flip. Do NOT over crowd! Work in batches and make sure to keep an eye on them so they don't burn. Serve with your favorite condiment.
  • You can make tot shapes a day ahead and keep in refrigerator covered with plastic wrap.
