2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
4 pita breads (6 inches)
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and rosemary; set aside. Cut pita breads into 1-in. strips; split in half. Spritz crust side with butter-flavored cooking spray; place crust side up on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray. , Broil 3-4 in. from the heat for 1 minute. Turn; brush with butter and sprinkle with Parmesan mixture. Broil 1-2 minutes longer or until golden brown and crisp.

Steps:

  • Preheat a nonstick electric griddle to 300°F (150°C). (Alternatively, heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-low heat.)
  • In a large bowl, whisk the eggs until well combined. Add the milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, and vanilla bean paste and whisk until completely combined.

4 slices white bread, toasted
1/3 cup butter, melted OR
1/3 cup margarine, melted
1/2 teaspoon onion salt, or
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/3 cup corn flakes, crumbed
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Trim crust from toast; cut each slice into 5 strips.
  • Combine butter or margarine with onion or garlic salt. On a sheet of waxed paper, mix cornflake crumbs and cheese.
  • Dip toast strips in butter mixture; then roll in crumb mixture; coating well.
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet; bake 5 minutes, or until crisp.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180˚C).
  • Spray a large baking sheet with cooking spray.
  • Stack and slice the Texas toast into thirds.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, butter, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and sugar.
  • Dunk each strip of bread into the mixture, allow the excess to drip off, then place on prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining strips.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Remove from oven and serve.
  • NOTE: To freeze, let the sticks cool slightly and transfer baking sheet to freezer. Once frozen, after 1-2 hours, transfer to a freezer bag for easy storage.

Steps:

  • Make the French toast: In a medium bowl, beat the eggs. Add the milk, cream, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt and whisk to combine.
  • Grease a 9 x 13-inch (22 x 33 cm) ceramic or glass baking dish with butter.
  • Working in batches, dip the brioche into the custard to coat both sides. Arrange the brioche in the prepared baking dish, overlapping slightly. Pour the remaining custard over the top. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, up to overnight.
  • Meanwhile, make the walnut streusel: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with a nonstick mat.

  • Unwrap the French toast. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake until the top is golden brown and crunchy, 20-25 minutes more. Remove from the oven and let sit for 10 minutes. Top with the walnut streusel and serve with maple syrup.
