GRILLED TERIYAKI PORK CHOPS



Grilled Teriyaki Pork Chops image

The homemade teriyaki-style marinade for these pork chops reduces in the microwave to become a tasty sauce. Coconut aminos are used as the basis of the marinade, instead of soy sauce, and other than a small amount of orange juice, there is no added sugar.

¼ cup coconut aminos (soy-free seasoning sauce)
2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
2 tablespoons fish sauce
1 ½ teaspoons rice vinegar
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon ground ginger
¼ teaspoon sesame oil
1 pinch salt to taste
4 (1/2 inch thick) bone-in pork loin chops
1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Combine coconut aminos, orange juice, fish sauce, rice vinegar, garlic powder, ginger, sesame oil, and salt in a 1-gallon resealable bag. Gently squeeze ingredients to mix. Add pork chops, squeeze most of the air out of the bag, and seal. Pork chops should be in a single layer. Place in the refrigerator and marinate for about 4 hours, turning every hour, and keeping the bag flat.
  • Preheat an outdoor gas grill to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • Remove pork chops from the marinade and pour marinade into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high until the marinade reduces to about 1/2 cup, about 3 minutes. Set sauce aside.
  • Oil the cooking grate and add chops. Grill for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes, then rotate and grill until marks appear, 1 to 1 1/2 minutes more. Turn the chops and repeat. After the second rotation, turn the heat down to the lowest setting, close the lid, and continue cooking until the internal temperature of the thickest chop is 145 degrees F (63 degrees C), 4 to 5 minutes. Remove chops to a serving platter, tent with foil, and allow to rest for 7 to 8 minutes.
  • Warm reserved sauce in the microwave. Serve grilled pork chops warm with 2 tablespoons sauce, garnished with sesame seeds.

¾ cup teriyaki sauce
2 ¼ teaspoons garlic salt
1 ½ teaspoons ground black pepper
3 pork chops
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil

Steps:

  • Combine teriyaki sauce, garlic salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  • Place pork chops on a deep plate. Pour 3/4 of the teriyaki mixture on top. Flip pork chops to coat second side. Let marinate in the refrigerator, about 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat; add pork chops, discarding marinade. Cover and cook until pork chops are browned, about 15 minutes. Flip and continue cooking until pork chops are cooked through, about 10 minutes. Uncover and pour in remaining 1/4 of the teriyaki mixture. Cover and simmer until flavors combine, about 5 minutes.

1 large garlic clove
1/3 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons mirin (sweet Japanese rice wine) or cream Sherry
2 1/2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 1/2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons minced peeled fresh gingerroot
two 1-inch-thick rib pork chops
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Finely chop garlic. In a saucepan bring soy sauce, mirin or Sherry, and vinegar to a boil with garlic, brown sugar, and gingerroot, stirring until brown sugar is dissolved. Transfer marinade to a metal bowl set in a large bowl of ice and cold water and cool, stirring occasionally, to room temperature.
  • In a small dish arrange pork chops in one layer and pour marinade over them, turning chops to coat well. Marinate chops at room temperature, turning them once, 15 minutes.
  • Pour marinade into a small saucepan and simmer 5 minutes. In a 10- to 12-inch heavy skillet heat oil over moderate heat until hot but not smoking and cook chops 6 to 8 minutes on each side, or until just cooked through.
  • Serve chops drizzled with marinade.

6 -8 pork loin chops
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce marinade
cooking spray

Steps:

  • Place chops in a zip lock bag with enough Recipe #365696 to cover each chop. Let stand on counter, turning bag occasionally for 1 hour or refrigerate up to 24 hours before cooking.
  • Remove the cooking grates from the grill and spray with non stick cooking spray.
  • Preheat charcoal or gas grill to medium/high heat.
  • Return the cooking grates to the grill.
  • Remove chops from marinade and place on greased grates over hot coals.
  • Turn each chop when juices pool on upper surface and meat appears to be cooked half-way through.
  • Cooking time for second side is shorter by 1-2 minutes.
  • If chop is thinner than 3/4 inch, cook about 5 minutes per side.
  • If chop is thicker than 3/4 inch, cook about 7 minutes per side.
  • Overcooking will cause chops to become tough.
  • Slightly pink chops are done, white chops are well done.

6 large boneless center cut pork loin chops
1/4 cup(s) pre-minced garlic sold in jars in the produce department
1 cup(s) good teriyaki marinade sauce, i use kikkomans
2 tablespoon(s) good asian soy sauce, the thick kind.
1 tablespoon(s) honey
1/2 teaspoon(s) ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt, very little salt soy and teriyaki contain salt

Steps:

  • A few hours before your meal time or in the morning take a large zip lock freezer bag pour the cup of teriyaki sauce and the 1/4 cup of minced garlic. add pepper and little salt, and the honey. Mush bag real good to mix everything real good. Add the six pork chops, zip the bag shut put into a large baking pan in case of a spill and refrigerate. Turn bag often so all the marinade will cover the chops real good. you can refrigerate for a little as one hour or better yet overnight or for a few hours.
  • Take meat out and let come to room temperture about an hour. When ready to eat put meat on a grill pan and under the broiler or over coals if grilling and grill for about 3 minutes on each side maximum 4 minutes on each side. Serve with your favorite sides. Your pork chops will be tender, flavorful and delicious. Enjoy

2 tablespoons adobo seasoning
orange juice (freshly squeezed from three oranges)
lemon juice (freshly squeezed from one lemon)
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 garlic cloves (smashed)

Steps:

  • Rub both sides of chops with adobo.
  • Place chops in a deep baking dish. In a separate bowl, mix together orange juice, lemon juice, vinegar, and garlic.
  • Pour marinade over chops and turn to coat both sides of chops.
  • Let chops marinate in refrigerator for at least one hour or overnight.
  • Preheat your grill and grill pork chops over a low to medium low flame. Cook each side for about 10-15 minutes per side.
  • The pork chops are done when meat is white and has reached an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.

16 medium fresh mushrooms
1 large red onion, cut into wedges
8 cherry tomatoes

  • In a small saucepan, combine cornstarch and brown sugar. Stir in the broth, soy sauce, garlic and ginger until blended. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
