Steps:
- Place 2 lemon wedges, 4 Thai basil leaves, and sugar in a cocktail shaker and mash well with a cocktail muddler. Pour in vodka and ice cubes; cover and shake until the outside of the shaker has frosted, about 45 seconds. Strain into 2 chilled martini glasses and garnish each with 1 lemon wedge and 1 Thai basil leaf.

MUDDLED BASIL MARTINI
I've been searching for the perfect summer basil martini. I think I found it on the "B*tches on a Budget" website! Slight variation using agave nectar instead of simple syrup. I had to substitute ounces for "jiggers" as called for in the original recipe -- original verbage included in directions.

Steps:
- Muddle the basil, simple syrup and lime juice together. Add gin or vodka. Combine in a cocktail shaker with loads of ice. Shake until there are shards of ice and the mix turns frothy. Strain.
- Original recipe reads: 2 1/2 jiggers of vodka or gin. 1 jigger simple syrup. 1 jigger fresh squeezed lime juice. 4 fresh sweet basil leaves. 1 fresh spearmint leaf (or to taste).
THAI BASIL BLISS
Steps:
- In a cocktail shaker, crush 4 basil leaves and the pineapple to a pulp with a muddler or wooden spoon. Fill shaker about halfway with ice and add simple syrup, tequila and lime juice. Shake well and strain into a cocktail glass. Top with a splash of soda and float last basil leaf on surface.
TONGUE THAI'D MARTINI
Steps:
- Muddle basil at bottom of cocktail shaker. Add remaining ingredients, shake well with ice and strain into chilled martini glass or coupe. Garnish with Thai basil leaf.

Steps:
- Wrap 1 of the basil leaves around mozzarella ball. Thread mozzarella and cherry tomato on cocktail pick or skewer; set aside for garnish.
- Add vodka and remaining 3 basil leaves to cocktail shaker; use muddler or wooden spoon to muddle basil, releasing its flavor into vodka.
- Add tomato juice, salt and enough ice to fill shaker; shake until well chilled. Pour into ice-filled glass (discard basil from shaker). Add garnish.
