Muddle basil with strawberries, simple syrup, and lime juice. Fill with ice and add remaining ingredients and top with ice. Stir. Top off with soda water. Garnish with a small basil leaf and fresh ground pepper.

Steps:

Place the strawberries, blueberries, cherries, whole basil leaves and vanilla bean in a 1-quart mason jar. Fill the jar to just below the brim with the vodka, then secure the lid and set aside for 1 week before enjoying.

2 ounces of dry London gin (I love Fords)
Scant 1/2 ounce of Chambord liqueur (basically, a splash)
3/4 ounce of fresh lemon juice
1/2 ounce of simple syrup
2 ounces of sparkling water
4 basil leaves (3 for muddling and 1 for garnish)

Steps:

Begin by muddling 3 basil leaves gently in the shaker glass.
Add a bunch of ice to the shaker and then add the gin, Chambord, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Shake for at least 15 seconds.
Strain over ice in a rocks glass and top with the sparkling water. Garnish with the remaining basil leaf (a lemon wheel would be great with it too).

3/4 to 1 cup ice cubes
2 ounces vodka
1/2 ounce club soda
1 teaspoon simple syrup
1 teaspoon cranberry juice

Steps:

In a shaker, muddle strawberries and basil. Fill shaker three-fourths full with ice. Add the remaining ingredients; cover and shake 10-15 seconds or until condensation forms on outside of shaker. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

ice, for shaking
1 oz strained lime juice
2 oz vodka
fresh basil leaf, for garnish
fresh blueberry, for garnish
martini glass, chilled

Steps:

Make the blueberry basil simple syrup: In a small pot over medium heat, combine the sugar and water. Add the blueberries and basil. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the syrup is clear. Let cool completely, about 30 minutes. Strain before using. The syrup will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
Make the cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, combine the lime juice, 1 ounce blueberry basil simple syrup, and the vodka. FIll the shaker with ice, then shake vigorously. Strain the cocktail into a chilled martini glass and garnish a basil leaf and blueberries.
