MELT-IN-YOUR-MOUTH MEAT LOAF
This recipe is anything but regular old meatloaf! Everyone will love this moist version made in the slow cooker, with milk, mushrooms, and a little sage for extra flavor.

Steps:
- Combine eggs, milk, bread crumbs, onion, salt, sage, and mushrooms in a large bowl. Crumble ground beef over mixture and stir well to combine. Shape into a round loaf; place in a 5-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on Low until a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees F (71 degrees C), 5 to 6 hours.
- Whisk ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl; spoon sauce over meat loaf. Return to slow cooker and cook on Low until heated through, about 15 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.

BEST MEAT LOAF (OVERNIGHT)
originally from taste of home, modified a bit for my personal tastes. men especially seem to like this.

Steps:
- first, prepare 2 large pieces of foil to wrap meat loaf. put four slices of bacon on foil.
- in large mixing bowl, combine all remaining ingredients (except for sauce). i find it is easier just to use my hands! mold the beef mixture loosely in a nice loaf and place over bacon strips. seal and refrigerate overnight (or all day).
- before baking, open foil and turn loaf so that bacon is now on top. reseal tightly, place on baking sheet, and bake at 350 degrees for about an hour. open foil, and drain excess juices.
- combine sauce ingredients in saucepan over low heat, and then spoon over loaf. bake uncovered, about 30 minutes longer. i like to put the loaf under the broiler for about 2-3 minutes to crisp the bacon.

We love meatloaf. It's such a homey, warm, comfort food. It makes the perfect Sunday meal. There are so many variations to meatloaf. This one is basic, but not lacking flavor. Serve with homemade mashed potatoes and a green vegetable, such as peas, green beans, or Brussels sprouts. The best part of this meal? The people you spend it with.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Mix ground beef, mayonnaise, bread crumbs, mustard, onion, salt, and pepper together in a large bowl until well combined. Transfer mixture to a 9x5-inch loaf pan with high sides. Form into a loaf by picking it up and forcing it down into the pan, making sure to knock out any air and square off all sides.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Spin pan and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
- Mix steak sauce, ketchup, and sugar together in a small bowl.
- Remove from the oven and spoon sauce over top. Bake until no longer pink in the center, about 10 more minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
- Remove form the oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Remove meat loaf to a serving platter and slice into 8 slices.

GRAMMY'S COMFORT MEATLOAF
This is the recipe that my grandmother makes. The only change from her recipe is that she uses oatmeal.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, thoroughly mix together the ground beef, half of one can of tomato soup, instant rice, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, egg, and green bell pepper; season with salt and black pepper. Reserve remaining tomato soup. Form the meat mixture into a loaf, and place into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Bake the loaf in the preheated oven until browned and an instant-read meat thermometer reads 160 degrees F (70 degrees C), about 30 minutes. Remove from oven, and cover the loaf with the remaining 1 1/2 cans of tomato soup. Return to oven, and bake until the soup is hot and beginning to form a glaze on the meat, about 10 minutes.

Steps:
- Slightly beat eggs.
- Lightly mix in chuck, crumbs, onions and pepper.
- Add horseradish, salt, mustard, milk and 1/4 c ketchup.
- Stir lightly but thoroughly.
- Place shaped meatloaf on shallow baking dish.
- Spread over top 1/2 c ketchup.
- Bake 50 minutes at 400.
- Spoon some hot juice over meat loaf when serving.
