Truth Serum Margaritas Recipes
"TRUTH SERUM" MARGARITAS
You'll know why I call it truth serum after you've finished one of these ! Be careful, they are strong. I avoid margarita mixes, because they seem to taste so artificial--there is no substitute for fresh lime juice. When limes are on sale, I buy lots and juice them all. I freeze the juice in 12 oz water bottles, so it's ready to go for "party time."

Steps:
- Mix limeade, lime juice, tequila and triple sec in a pitcher and refrigerate.
- Serve in salted glasses with plenty of ice--skip the blender, just serve on the rocks.
- Garnish with lime wedge& a splash of Grand Marnier.
REAL MARGARITAS
Steps:
- If you like margaritas served in a glass with salt, rub the outside rims of 6glasses with a cut lime and dip each glass lightly into a plate of kosher salt.
- Combine the lime juice, lemon juice, Triple Sec, tequila, and ice in a blender and puree. Place extra ice in a cocktail shaker. Fill with margarita mix, shake well, and strain into glasses.
MARGARITAS
Steps:
- To salt the margarita glasses, rub the outside rims of 4 big glasses with a cut lime and press them lightly into a plate of kosher salt, to coat.
- Combine the lime juice, sugar, Grand Marnier, Triple Sec, tequila, and a big handful of ice in a cocktail shaker (or blender). Shake the margarita really well, for a good 20 seconds, and strain into the salt rimmed glasses filled with ice.

Seeking a lower calorie alternative to the original Truth Serum (which uses lots of limeade, which is full of corn syrup and Triple Sec, which is loaded with sugar!), yet still refreshing and delicious (like the original Truth Serum), this is new take on Truth Serum will put a smile on your face!

Steps:
- Mix the lime juice, tequila and, water agave syrup in a measuring cup. Stir until the syrup is fully incorporated with the liquids.
- Take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of a glass; dip the glass into the salt/sugar mixture; take any excess salt/sugar off rim to make it look pretty!
- Fill the glass just halfway with margarita mix, fill the glass the rest of the way with ice cubes and stir.
- Pour a small "dollop" of orange liqueur on top of the ice (about 2 teaspoons).
- Add a lime wedge and serve!
- Make the concoction to suit your taste by adding more agave syrup (if you like it sweeter) or lime juice (for a more sour flavor).
- Enjoy!

THE PERFECT MARGARITA
Mastering the margarita requires a certain amount of practice, but once you dial-in your perfect ratio, it's a really easy cocktail to replicate. The classic recipe is 3 parts tequila, 2 parts triple sec, and 1 part freshly squeezed lime juice, and you should probably start off pretty close to that, but my personal favorite proportions are 4-3-2.

- Fill a cocktail shaker with fresh ice. Add tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. Cover and shake vigorously until outside of the shaker has frosted. Strain into the prepared glass and garnish with a slice of lime.
