Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a Bundt pan with cooking spray (be generous!) and dust with flour, tapping out any excess. In a large bowl using a hand mixer, beat cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, melted butter, and 1 cup water until smooth and combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake until a toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean, about 45 minutes.
- Let cake cool in pan 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely. Carefully place back in Bundt pan.
- In a large bowl using a hand mixer, beat butter until light and fluffy, then add marshmallow creme, powdered sugar, and vanilla and beat until smooth. Gradually add heavy cream if mixture is too stiff and transfer to a large piping bag or resealable plastic bag with the end snipped.
- Using a teaspoon, scoop out 8 to 10 large holes around bottom of cake, making sure not to cut through the top. Pipe filling into holes, then carefully invert cake onto a serving platter and dust with powdered sugar.
TWINKIE CAKE
If you like Twinkies, you will sure love this cake. This is an easy cake because there is no baking. With the maraschino cherries on top of the cake, it is a pretty cake for the Christmas holidays.

Steps:
- For the cake, prepare yellow cake according to package directions (for 2 9-inch layer cake pans). Cool completely.
- In a small saucepan, combine the flour with milk, whisking until lumps removed. Turn on medium heat and continue to whisk until mixture becomes thick, like a pudding.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Cool completely.
- In a mixing bowl, combine butter and sugar, beat until light and fluffy (about 4 minutes). Slowly add in the COOLED milk mixture, beating until combined. It may curdle slightly in the beginning, that's okay, keep beating until it becomes the texture of whipped cream!
- Place first layer of cooled cake on a cake plate. Top it with ALL of the cream filling. Add the second layer of cake on top.
- Sprinkle generously with powdered sugar. Slice and enjoy!
TWINKIE CAKE RECIPE - (4.3/5)

Steps:
- Bake cake according to package directions, when the cake is completely cooled, turn the cake out of the pan onto a large plate or platter or cutting board. If the cake is really moist put the cake in the freezer for a couple minutes and it should pop right out. Cut the thickness of the cake in half with a large knife or cake leveler. Using a second plate, remove the top of the cake and set aside. Flip the bottom half of the cake back into the cake pan. For this part, you can make the cake all fancy and do multiple layers if you want to. In a medium saucepan cook 5 tablespoons flour, 1 cup milk, 1/4 teaspoon salt until thick or the consistency of a thin gravy. When it is too thick it doesn't beat up as nicely in the end. Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Let cool completely. I usually put it in the refrigerator to cool while I do the next step. In a medium bowl, cream together 1 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup Crisco, 1/2 cup margarine and 1/2 teaspoon salt. When the "gravy" is cooled completely, add it to the bowl of creamed ingredients and beat for 10 minutes. It should be fluffy and the consistency of a Twinkie filling. This recipe makes around 2 cups of fluff. It is enough to have a 1/2-inch of filling in a 9x13-inch cake. Spread the cream filling on the bottom cake layer, leaving 1/4-inch of space around the outside of the cake. The cream will spread out when the top layer is put back on. Carefully flip the top layer back onto the cake. Frost as you normally would. If you are going to do a cake with multiple layers, I would recommend putting the cake in the freezer so the Twinkie filling sets up and does not mix with the frosting if it squeezes out of the sides. The cake doesn't need to be refrigerated. it keeps fine for the normal lifespan of a cake. Serve immediately.
THE ULTIMATE TWINKIE CAKE!
This is an Excellent cake! I get requests from my co-workers all the time! One of the great things about this cake is that it can be inter-changeable. You can be creative and use whatever flavor cake mix you like, and you can change the flavor of the filling. You can also make this in a 9x13 pan, mini loaf pans, or mini muffin pans (my new personal favorite!) Try this cake and your kids will love it! It is also a great cake for parties or get togethers. Enjoy!

Steps:
- I listed the ingredients from a Duncan Hines cake mix, so you will need to follow the directions on which ever cake mix you use.
- Mix well, then pour batter into wax paper lined 9x13 pan. Then bake, let cool and remove from pan.
- Slice lengthwise with thread or knife. Spread filling between layers and sprinkle top with powdered sugar.
- Filling directions: Combine flour and water, cook until thick, cool in refrigerator, combine sugar, margarine, shortening and vanilla. Beat until thick and fluffy. Add cooled mixture; Beat again until fluffy and spread filling between layers. If it looks curdled, you need to beat it a little longer.
- Like I told you, you can make them into little loaf pans or mini muffin pans. Use a pastry bag to pipe the filling into the cakes.
- You could be creative and add cocoa or strawberry jelly to the filling.
- I try and sprinkle the powdered sugar on them just before I serve them as the sugar absorbs into the cake over a short period of time. You can refrigerate them (thats the way I like them, or frozen) but they are fine left out on the counter for a day or so.
- I am just guessing on the servings, it all depends on the pans you use. I think I get between 25-35 mini muffins out of 1 cake mix,1 dozen mini loafs and I am just approximating on the 20 slices in a 9x13. Also, to be honest, I am not sure the amount of time it takes to make them. The baking time is also a guess depending on which size pans you use. I make the filling while the cakes are cooking.

HOMEMADE TWINKIES
Dispirited by the possible demise in 2012 of Hostess, the company that makes Twinkies, Ho Hos, and Hostess cupcakes, Jennifer Steinhauer began to wonder if she could make Hostess snack cakes, as well as other much-loved junk food from the past, in her own kitchen. She started with this classic, the Twinkie, by buying a canoe pan, which conveniently came with a cream injector. This recipe is a traditional sponge cake-style recipe, with whipped egg whites and sugar forming the base, then filled by cream injector with seven-minute frosting. Neighbors were delighted when she shared the results, but it was short lived. By the next day, the cake had absorbed the cream -- so make sure to eat them fast.

Yield 12 homemade Twinkies.
Number Of Ingredients 15
Steps:
- For the cakes: Heat the oven to 350 degrees and adjust the oven rack to the lower-middle position.
- To make single-use Twinkie molds, cut 12 pieces of aluminum foil 12 inches wide by 14 inches long. Fold each piece of foil in half lengthwise, then fold it in half again to create a rectangle that's about 6 inches long and 7 inches wide. Repeat to make a dozen rectangles.
- Place one sheet of folded foil on a work surface with a standard-size spice jar on its side in the center of the foil. Bring the long sides of the foil up around the jar, folding the sides and ends as necessary to make a tight trough-shape from which the jar can be removed. Repeat to make 12 foil molds. Spray generously with nonstick spray or coat with vegetable oil. Place the molds on a baking sheet.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cake flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder and salt. In a small saucepan over low heat, heat the milk and butter until the butter melts. Remove from the heat and add the vanilla. Cover to keep warm.
- Using a standing mixer, beat the egg whites on high speed until foamy. Gradually add 6 tablespoons of the sugar and the cream of tartar and continue to beat until the whites reach soft peaks.
- Transfer the beaten egg whites to a large bowl and add the egg yolks to the standing mixer bowl (there's no need to clean the bowl). Beat the egg yolks with the remaining 6 tablespoons sugar on medium-high speed until the mixture is very thick and a pale lemon color, about 5 minutes. Add the beaten egg whites to the yolks, but do not mix.
- Sprinkle the flour mixture over the egg whites and then mix everything on low speed for just 10 seconds. Remove the bowl from the mixer, make a well in one side of the batter, and pour the melted butter mixture into the bowl. Fold gently with a large rubber spatula until the batter shows no trace of flour and the whites and yolks are evenly mixed, about 8 strokes.
- Immediately scrape the batter into the prepared molds, filling each with about .75 inch of batter. Bake until the cake tops are light brown and feel firm and spring back when touched, 13 to 15 minutes. Transfer the pan containing the molds to a wire rack and allow the cakes to cool in the molds.
- For the filling: Using a mixer, beat together the butter, confectioners' sugar and Marshmallow Fluff. Add the cream and beat just until smooth.
- Just before filling the cakes, remove them from the foil. Using the end of a chopstick, poke three holes in the bottom of each cake. Wiggle the tip of the chopstick to make room for the filling. Transfer the frosting to a pastry bag fitted with a 1/4-inch round tip. Pipe frosting into the holes in each cake, taking care not to overfill, until it gently expands. Unlike real Twinkies, these won't last indefinitely. They're best served still slightly warm.

- Preheat the oven to 325º Fahrenheit for dark pans or 350º Fahrenheit for light or glass pans. Grease 2 9” square cake pans with shortening, then dust with flour. (The only note I made here is that by putting shortening and flour up the sides of the pan, the cake did not cling to the pan and the sides slightly sunk in as it cooled, so possibly by greasing just the bottom only it would cling to the side better?) You can also line the pans with parchment paper to ensure they come out cleanly.
- In a small saucepan over medium low heat, cook the flour and milk together, whisking constantly, until the mixture thickens to a pudding consistency.
