This snack only takes a few minutes to prepare and it keeps for a month.

2 cups assorted dried fruit, such as apricots (slivered), raisins, cranberries, or cherries
2 cups salted nuts, such as peanuts, almonds, or mixed

Steps:

  • In a medium airtight container, combine fruit and nuts. To store, keep at room temperature, up to 1 month.
  • Preheat oven or toaster-oven to 350. For 1 serving: Spread 1/3 cup mixture on a small rimmed baking sheet; bake until warm, about 5 minutes. Serve.

1 cup pecan halves
1 cup whole salted cashews
1 cup salted peanuts
1 cup raisins
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup creamy peanut butter or butterscotch chips
1 cup coarsely chopped dried apricots
3/4 cup coarsely chopped dried peaches or apples
1/2 cup dried cranberries

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Store in an airtight container.

6 ounces smoked almonds (I used Blue Diamond smokehouse almonds)
8 ounces dried apricots, using kitchen shears cut in halves (or thirds)
8 ounces dried cranberries

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients. Store in airtight container or bags.

2 cups seven-grain hot cereal
1 medium apple, peeled and chopped
1/4 cup dried apricots, chopped
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup chopped dates
1/4 cup raisins
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 cups water
1 cup unsweetened apple juice
1/4 cup maple syrup
Chopped walnuts, optional

Steps:

  • Place first 8 ingredients in a 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker coated with cooking spray. Stir in water, juice and syrup., Cook, covered, on low until thickened and cereal is tender, 6-7 hours. If desired, top with walnuts.

2 (14 ounce) cans sweetened condensed milk
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup dried blueberries
1/2 cup dried apple
1/4 cup pine nuts
1/4 cup toasted almond
1/2 cup raw cashews
1/3 cup pepitas
1/3 cup sunflower seeds
1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 deg and line a 9x13 baking pan with parchment paper. Oil the parchment.
  • Warm the condensed milk in a large pan.
  • Process the ingredients, separately if necessary, to get them to the size and consistency you would like.
  • Mix all ingredients with the milk and spread evenly in the baking pan.
  • Bake for one hour. Remove from oven and allow top cool for 15 minutes before cutting into individual squares.
