POMEGRANATE PARTY PUNCH



Pomegranate Party Punch image

This Pomegranate Party Punch recipe is easy and serves a crowd. Make an alcoholic version and non-alcoholic version this fall or winter!

8 cups lemon-lime flavoured carbonated drink (use sparking wine if making making an alcoholic version)
1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice
1/4 cup sugar
2 large oranges (sliced thinly, use the middle slices, not the ends)
1/2 cup pomegranate arils
4 cups ice
Garnish: fresh mint

Steps:

  • In a large bowl or pitcher mix the carbonated drink (or sparkling wine if making an alcohol-friendly version) with the pomegranate juice and sugar. Add sugar slowly if using carbonated drinks in case it bubbles up. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add the orange slices and pomegranate arils. Mix again.
  • Right before serving add the ice.
  • At the last minute add the mint. It will over-power your drink if you add it too soon. Stir well.
  • Serve with a big old pomegranate party punch loving smile!

4 cups unsweetened apple juice
2 cups brewed tea
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup lemon juice
3 cinnamon sticks (3 inches)
12 whole cloves

Steps:

  • In a 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker, combine the first five ingredients. Place cinnamon sticks and cloves on a double thickness of cheesecloth; bring up corners of cloth and tie with string to form a bag. Add to slow cooker., Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours or until heated through. Discard spice bag. Serve warm.

1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice
8 ounces agave syrup
12 ounces tequila blanco
1 cup pomegranate seeds
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, plus 6 sprigs for garnish
One 750-milliliter bottle Champagne or sparkling wine
2 limes, sliced

Steps:

  • Add the pomegranate juice and agave to a pitcher and stir to combine. Add the tequila, pomegranate seeds and mint, then stir and allow to sit until ready to serve.
  • Fill wine glasses with ice, then fill halfway with the prepared cocktail. Top off each glass with Champagne. Garnish each with a mint sprig and 1 or 2 slices of lime. Serve immediately.

4 cups pomegranate seeds
1/2 cup pomegranate juice
2 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice
1 cup vodka
3/4 cup orange-flavored liqueur, such as Cointreau
1/3 cup fresh lime juice
1 bottle Champagne
Rose petals, for garnish

Steps:

  • For the ice mold:
  • Add the pomegranate seeds, pomegranate juice and water to a silicone Bundt pan. Freeze until solid, 3 to 4 hours or overnight. When ready to serve, run the ring mold under a little hot water, remove from the pan and place in a large punch bowl.
  • For the pomegranate lime punch:
  • Add the pomegranate juice, vodka, orange-flavored liqueur and lime juice to a large punch bowl and stir to combine. Add the ring mold and top with the Champagne just before serving. Garnish with the rose petals.

2 1/4 cups fresh mint sprigs, plus more for serving
6 cups 100% (unsweetened) pomegranate juice, such as Pom Wonderful, chilled
3/4 cup apricot nectar
2 1/2 cups seltzer

Steps:

  • Bring sugar, 1 1/2 cups water, and ginger to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring, until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Add mint; let stand 30 minutes. Strain. Let cool completely.
  • Stir together mint syrup, juice, and nectar in an ice-filled punch bowl. Add seltzer. Garnish with mint; serve.

Juice of 3 limes
1 tablespoon brown sugar
7 ounces aged rum
10 pieces star anise
2 cinnamon sticks
1 teaspoon mulling spices, or any combination of whole allspice, cloves, cardamom pods and dried or fresh orange peel
4 dried figs, sliced
1 bottle fruity red wine

Steps:

  • Roll the pomegranates on a countertop to soften. Halve them crosswise and hold them, cut side down, over a medium saucepan, hitting the backsides until all the seeds have been released. Add the lime juice, brown sugar, rum, 10 pieces of star anise, cinnamon, mulling spices and 3 of the sliced figs. Bring to a boil and simmer 7 minutes. Add the wine and let it rest, covered, 10 minutes. Serve warm, strained or not, in small mugs garnished with a fig slice and a piece of star anise.

  • Stir together all ingredients in a 4 to 6 quart slow cooker; cover.
  • Cook until very hot, about 1 hour on High or 2 hours on Low; once hot keep warm on low heat up to 4 hours.
  • A serving is 1 cup.

1/4 cup fresh orange juice, plus strips of orange zest for garnish

Steps:

  • Cut pomegranates in half. Extract juice from seeds with a citrus juicer or reamer. Strain into a medium saucepan. (You should have about 2 1/2 cups juice.)
  • Add cider, 2 cups water, the cinnamon stick, and ginger. Cook over high heat until simmering, 5 to 6 minutes. Reduce heat; gently simmer 15 minutes. Skim any foam that rises to the surface.

3/4 cup sugar
1 bunch fresh mint, trimmed and rinsed
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

Steps:

  • Cut pomegranates in half, and extract juice from seeds with a juicer or reamer. Strain through a fine sieve into a large bowl, discarding pulp. You should have about 3 1/3 cups juice.
  • In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups water and sugar to a boil. Reduce to a simmer, and stir until sugar dissolves. Add pomegranate juice, mint, and lemon juice. Cover; let steep 30 minutes. Remove and discard mint; let cool completely.
