BASIC BREAD MACHINE WHITE BREAD



Basic Bread Machine White Bread image

A tried and true basic white bread that will work with most bread machine manufacturer's instructions.

Yield 1.5 lb loaf

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon bread machine yeast
1 1/2 tablespoon dry milk powder, optional

Steps:

  • Add all the ingredients to the bread machine in the order recommended by the machine manufacturer. Select the white bread or basic bread cycle. When the bread is done, remove the pan from the machine and let it cool for 5 minutes then remove the bread to a rack to cool completely before slicing or storing in an airtight container. If the dough looks too moist while in the knead cycle, add up to a tablespoon of additional flour.

2 tablespoons white sugar
1 (.25 ounce) package bread machine yeast
¼ cup vegetable oil
3 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Place the water, sugar and yeast in the pan of the bread machine. Let the yeast dissolve and foam for 10 minutes. Add the oil, flour and salt to the yeast. Select Basic or White Bread setting, and press Start.
