4 boneless pork chops
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp mild chili powder
1 tbsp canola oil
1/2 cup Caesar dressing
1/4 cup sliced black olives, drained
1/4 cup onions, diced
1/4 cup chicken broth
2 tbsp green onions, diced
1 tbsp minced garlic
2 cups penne pasta

Steps:

  • Place pork chops in a zip lock bag, and add brown sugar, 1-1/2 tsp dried basil, salt, chili powder, 1 tbsp canola oil. Seal bag and press on bag with fingers to distribute ingredients evenly over pork chops.
  • Start pot of water for pasta, and salt well. Once water gets to a boil place pasta in pot and cook until el dente. Drain pasta and return the empty sauce pan to the stove.
  • Add the diced onions, minced garlic, and chicken broth to the sauce pan for 2-3 minutes on medium-high heat. Add Caesar dressing, olives, and green onions. Cook for an additional 2 minutes. Lastly, add the penne pasta back to the pot, mix well, and cook on low until pork chops are done.
  • Spray a large skillet with non-stick cooking spray and cook pork chops over medium heat 5-8 minutes on each side or until browned and internal temperature reads 160F. Serve the pork chops with the Caesar penne pasta. Enjoy!

1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons dried basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
2 tablespoons canola oil, divided
4 boneless pork loin chops (1/2 inch thick and 4 ounces each)

Steps:

  • Mix first 4 ingredients; gradually stir in 1 tablespoon oil (mixture will be crumbly). Rub over both sides of pork chops., In a large skillet, heat remaining oil over medium heat; cook chops until a thermometer reads 145°, 4-6 minutes per side. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

This is what we had for dinner tonight. I've made dishes similar before, but haven't measured out the ingredients so others can duplicate it. Feel free to improvise. Water could be easily sustituted for the tomato juice. About half way through the cooking time taste the sauce for acidity. Add a pinch of sugar if needed to cut the acidity of the tomatoes.

1 small onion, chopped finely
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons olive oil
8 thin sliced pork chops
12 ounces tomato paste
12 ounces water
28 ounces crushed tomatoes
11 1/2 ounces tomato juice
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried thyme
2 teaspoons dried basil
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
3/4 cup dry red wine
1 (8 ounce) jar mushrooms, drained
1 cup Italian parsley, chopped
1 lb cooked penne pasta

Steps:

  • Saute the onion in the olive oil in a large pot until translucent.
  • Add the garlic and continue cooking until the garlic is slightly brown.
  • While the onion is cooking mix the tomato paste and water together.
  • Place the pork chops in the pot.
  • Add the tomato paste mixture, crushed tomatoes, and the tomato juice to the pot then stir.
  • Add the dry seasonings, wine, and mushrooms. Simmer for 1 hour.
  • 10 minutes before the sauce is finished add the parsley.
  • Remove pork chops and keep warm while you mix pasta and sauce.
  • Serve with a salad.

4 (8 ounce) pork chops
1 lime, juiced
4 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup chopped fresh basil
salt and black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Toss the pork chops with the lime juice in a bowl until evenly covered. Toss with garlic and basil. Season the chops to taste with salt and pepper. Set aside to marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat, and lightly oil the grate.
  • Cook the pork chops on the preheated grill until no longer pink in the center, 5 to 10 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
