Sip on this delightful freshly-squeezed lavender lemonade mixed with blueberries, and spiked with vodka, to chase the summer blues away!

Number Of Ingredients 8

15 blueberries
2 juiced lemons
½ tsp or simple syrup , or more, to taste Agave Nectar
1½ oz such as Tito's or Hendrick's, or gin vodka
3 sprigs, fresh lavender and ⅔ cup cold water OR 2/3
⅔ cup cold water
⅔ cup made with dried lavender, alternative lavender tea
ice

Steps:

  • In a mixing glass, thoroughly muddle the sprigs of lavender with the blueberries. Squeeze in the juice of two lemons, add agave nectar and vodka.
  • Add up to ⅔ cup cold water (more or less to taste). Use a fork to whisk the agave nectar into the rest of the liquid.
  • Fill your glass with ice, and stir with a spoon.
  • Tea (alternative):
  • Add one to two teaspoons of dried lavender per cup of hot water. Let steep for about five minutes, and strain out the lavender. Let cool.
  • In a mixing glass, muddle the blueberries. Squeeze in the juice of two lemons, add agave nectar, and vodka. Use a fork to whisk the agave nectar into the rest of the liquid.
  • Add up to ¾ cup of tea to your drink. Taste and feel free to dilute it with water if you find the lavender taste is too strong.
  • Fill your glass with ice, and stir up your lemonade with a spoon.

Blueberry lavender lemonade with vodka is the perfect cocktail for summer evenings. This purple drink is sweetened with agave nectar and real blueberries. There are two ways to make this, with fresh rosemary sprigs or by making rosemary tea with dried lavender (if you are using dried lavender, you'll need to make your lavender tea in advance so it has time to cool). Please taste your lemonade as you go and adjust accordingly. I prefer tart to sweet, so 1/2 teaspoon of agave was plenty for me, but feel free to add more. Enjoy!

½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup water
1 tablespoon dried edible lavender flowers
3⁄4 cup blueberries, divided
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 ounces gin
1 tablespoon lavender simple syrup
1⁄2 cup club soda
2 sprigs fresh lavender
2 lemon wheels

Steps:

  • Lavender Simple Syrup In a small saucepan set over medium-low heat, combine all syrup ingredients and cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 to 5 minutes or until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let steep for 2 to 3 hours. Strain and set aside.
  • Blueberry Lavender Lemonade Cocktail In a cocktail shaker, add 2/3 cup blueberries and lemon juice. Muddle berries to release juices. Add gin and lavender simple syrup, and fill with ice. Shake until frosty. Strain through fine-mesh sieve into 2 ice-filled glasses. Top evenly with soda water. Garnish with remaining blueberries, lavender sprigs and lemon wheels.

¾ cup sugar
¼ cup honey
1 ½ tablespoons dried lavender buds

Steps:

  • Combine water, blueberries, sugar, and honey in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce temperature to a light simmer. Add in lavender, stir to combine, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Let mixture cool for 10 minutes, then strain into a jar using a fine mesh strainer. Use the back of a spoon to mash the berries through the strainer to release juices. Refrigerate for up to 1 month.
