Cheddar Ranch Bacon Quiche image

A simple breakfast quiche that offers an addictive flavor combination featuring sharp cheddar, crisp bacon, and ranch dressing.

1 9 " pie crust
6-8 strips of bacon (cooked crisp and crumbled)
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese + a little more for sprinkling on top
3 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup cream
1/2 cup ranch dressing

Steps:

  • Place the pie crust evenly into a 9" pie dish. Crimp/pinch the edges at the top if desired.
  • Spread the bacon evenly out over the bottom of the pie crust and then sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly out over top of it.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, and dressing until the mixture's smooth and evenly combined. Pour the egg mixture evenly out over bacon and cheese. Wait about 30 seconds for the mixture to 'settle'.
  • Bake the quiche at 375 degrees for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
  • Remove the quiche from the oven and allow it to rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

This mashup of Julia Child recipes, combining elements of her quiche Lorraine and quiche au fromage, then pouring them into a lard-and-butter based pie crust, results in a serious breakfast feast. You could make the whole thing the night before serving it, and consume it at room temperature in the morning. But just making the dough for the crust in advance will save loads of time -- and the pleasure of the bubbling hot dish on a breakfast table is impossible to deny.

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
5 tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
5 tablespoons lard, chilled, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1 large egg white, lightly beaten
1/4 cup grated extra-sharp Cheddar
6 strips bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
3 large eggs
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
3/4 teaspoon chopped sage
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, cubed

Steps:

  • To make the crust, briefly pulse together the flour and salt in a food processor. Add butter and lard and pulse until mixture forms pieces the size of lima beans, about 3 to 5 one-second pulses. Adding 2 to 5 tablespoons of ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, pulse mixture until it is just moist enough to hold together. Shape into a ball, cover with plastic wrap and flatten into a disk. Refrigerate at least 1 hour.
  • Heat oven to 375 degrees. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to 3/8-inch thick and press it into a 9-inch quiche or pie pan. Line with foil and fill with pie weights, rice or dried beans. Bake for 20 minutes, then remove the weights and foil and bake for 5 to 7 minutes more, until lightly golden.
  • Brush the crust with egg white, then sprinkle the cheese evenly over the bottom of the pie crust. Bake for another 10 minutes, until the cheese is just melted. Remove from the oven.
  • Meanwhile, in a large pan over medium heat, cook the bacon for 7 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned but not yet crisp. Drain on paper towels.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, sage, pepper, nutmeg and salt. Sprinkle the bacon over the quiche crust, then carefully pour in the egg mixture. Dot with the butter pieces and return to the oven. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes, until the top is puffed and golden and the middle is almost set. Let it cool for 15 minutes before serving.

1 cup half-and-half

1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
cayenne pepper
1 pie shell

Steps:

  • Crumble bacon in to the bottom of the pie shell.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese over the bacon.
  • Saute green onions in bacon grease and sprinkle over cheese.
  • Beat eggs, half& half& milk together, then add remaining ingredients.
  • Pour into the pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

My sister found this on a website but I am not sure which one and made it for my little sister's wedding shower. It was excellent so here I am sharing it. I have listed the ingredients for making the crust too, however I just buy a frozen crust from the store. ENJOY!!

1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold butter, cut in small pieces
2 -3 tablespoons ice-cold water
8 slices lean bacon, cooked and crumbled
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cups light cream
1/4 teaspoon dried leaf thyme
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Prepare crust for quiche. In a mixing bowl, mix together flour and salt. Cut in cold butter with a pastry blender until coarse crumbs form; add water, a little at a time, until dough holds together and forms a ball. Shape into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  • On a lightly floured surface with a floured rolling pin, roll out dough into a circle about 11 inches in diameter. Fit dough into a 9-inch pie plate or quiche pan. Trim edges, leaving a little overhang, about 1/4-inch all around the edge. Prick dough with a fork. Line with foil and fill with dried beans or pie weights. Bake quiche crust for 10 minutes at 375°.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, thyme, and pepper. Pour into the baked crust. Crumble bacon over the top with the shredded Cheddar cheese. Bake at 375° for about 30 minutes, or until quiche filling is set and lightly browned. Serve quiche with fresh tomato wedges.
  • NOTE: 5 minutes prep if you do not make the homemade crust and use a frozen one instead!

6 slices chopped cooked bacon
1 tablespoon ranch dressing & seasoning mix

1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
5 Old El Paso™ flour tortillas for burritos (8 inch)

Steps:
