Number Of Ingredients 6

8 cups miniature marshmallows
6 tablespoons butter, cubed
12 cups Rice Krispies
1 cup white baking chips
1/2 teaspoon shortening
Sprinkles, red, white, and blue

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, heat marshmallows and butter until melted. Remove from the heat; stir in cereal and mix well. Press into a greased 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Cut with a 3-inch star-shaped cookie cutter. Insert a wooden popsicle stick into the side of each star; place on waxed paper. In a microwave, melt white chips and shortening; stir until smooth. Spread over stars. Decorate with sprinkles.

  • Lay a large piece of wax paper across your counter. Less mess, less stress! Unwrap all of your rice krispies treats and set them to the side.Using a microwave or a double boiler, melt your white chocolate. If the consistency is too thick, add a small amount of vegetable oil and stir.
  • Pour your melted white chocolate into a small bowl or cup and set aside.Now it’s time to place the straws into your treats.
  • One at a time, press the plastic straw into the bottom of the treat. The paper straws are not strong enough to pierce the treat.
  • Once you have done this to all of the rice krispies treats you will dip the end of your paper straws into the melted white chocolate and place them into the holes you have made.Allow your treats to dry before moving onto the next step.
