1 egg
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
Salt
1 cup whole milk
Butter, for pie dish
1 cup grated Cheddar
2 ounces small chorizo or pepperoni slices, about 3/4-inch diameter, optional
Special equipment: 1 round ovenproof pie dish, 8 or 9 inches in diameter

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. In a small bowl, beat the egg with the flour, salt, to taste, and milk to make a smooth batter.
  • Butter a round ovenproof pie dish, then stir half the grated cheese into the batter, before pouring it into the dish.
  • Bake for 30 minutes. Take the dish out of the oven, sprinkle with the remaining cheese, and add the chorizo or pepperoni, if using, - or anything else - now, too. Return the dish to the oven and cook for another 2 or 3 minutes to make sure it's heated through.
  • Once the cheese on top is melted and looks burnished fold on the crustless pizza, take it out of the oven and serve, cut into slices. A green or tomato salad on the side would not be a bad idea...
  • Leftover Note:
  • Leftovers can be reheated the next day in a hot oven for 8 to10 minutes, but sadly they won't be as nice as the first time around.

2 lbs ground beef
garlic salt, pepper and dried minced onion ( to taste)
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
14 oz jar pizza sauce
2 cups shredded pizza blend cheese
Your favorite pizza toppings

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees
  • Brown your beef and seasonings in a skillet on the stove over medium/high heat and drain
  • Put your beef and mozzarella in a bowl and mix it together
  • Spray your 9 x 13 pan lightly with cooking spray
  • Evenly spread out your beef mixture in your pan
  • Pour your pizza sauce across the top and spread out evenly
  • Top with your pizza blend cheese and toppings
  • Put in your oven for 10 minutes, until your cheese is melted

With the rising popularity of home pizza ovens (both portable and built-in), we wanted a dough that would perform well under their intense heat. This dough's hydration (60%) is ideal for heats of 800 to 900 degrees F. If your oven doesn't get that hot, this is still a great dough but you'll need to increase the water a bit to help with the rise of the crust.

Yield dough for four 12-inch pizzas

Number Of Ingredients 5

300 grams water, at 100 degrees F
15 grams sea salt
1/8 teaspoon instant yeast
500 grams "00" flour, preferably pizzeria-style, plus more for dusting
Olive oil

Steps:

  • Combine the water and salt in a large bowl and stir to dissolve the salt. Add the yeast and stir until dissolved. Add the flour and use your hands to stir and knead gently until the dough just comes together and all the flour is incorporated, about 2 minutes. Cover and let rest for 20 minutes.
  • Lightly dust a clean work surface with flour and turn the dough out onto it. Knead the dough until a smooth ball forms, about 2 minutes. Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled dough box or a bowl and cover with a tightly fitting lid or cover tightly with plastic wrap. Let rise until slightly puffy, about 1 hour.
  • Gently transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and divide the dough into four even pieces for 12-inch pizzas. (If you want larger pizzas divide the dough into three balls.) Form the pieces into compact balls and transfer to a lightly floured dough box or baking sheet; leave plenty of space between each ball for them to expand. Lightly flour the tops and cover the balls with a lid or plastic wrap. Let rise at room temperature until puffy and nearly doubled in size, about 7 hours (see Cook's Note). Form and bake as desired.

1 cup water
1 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast
1 teaspoon white sugar
3 cups bread flour
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 ½ teaspoons salt

Steps:

  • Mix water, yeast, and sugar together in the bowl of a stand mixer until sugar is dissolved. Add bread flour, olive oil, and salt. Knead using the dough hook attachment until dough is smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
  • Cover dough and refrigerate, 8 hours to overnight.
  • Punch dough gently to deflate. Divide into 2 pieces on a lightly floured surface. Shape into balls; cover with a damp cloth and let rest, 2 to 3 hours. Flatten or stretch out dough to desired thickness.
