Dr Weil S Miso Soup Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. canola oil
  2. fresh gingerroot
  3. onion
  4. carrots
  5. celery
  6. cabbage
  7. water
  8. miso
  9. green onions
  10. toasted sesame oil

Steps:

  1. heat canola oil in large pot
  2. add ginger and onion
  3. saut over medium heat for 5 minutes and add carrots , celery and cabbage
  4. stir well
  5. add water , bring to a boil over high heat , then lower heat and simmer covered till carrots are tender , about 10 minutes
  6. remove from heat
  7. place miso in a bowl , add a little of the broth from the soup , and stir into a smooth paste
  8. add more broth to thin the mixture , then add the miso to the soup
  9. let rest for a few minutes
  10. serve in bowls with chopped raw scallions and a few drops of roasted sesame oil
  11. you may wish to remove the sliced ginger before serving
