INSTANT POT BEER BRATS



Instant Pot Beer Brats image

Bratwurst cooked with beer in your Instant Pot pressure cooker. No matter the type or brand, they come out perfectly cooked each and every time!

Number Of Ingredients 3

2 Tablespoons olive oil
5-7 Bratwurst
1 cup beer

Steps:

  • Set your Instant Pot to Sauté
  • Once the display reads HOT, add the olive oil and then the bratwurst. Brown on both sides.
  • Remove all of the brats from the instant pot and pour in the beer. Deglaze the bottom of the pot to remove any browned bits.
  • Place a trivet in the bottom of the pot and place your bratwurst on top.
  • Lock the lid in place and push the valve to the Sealing position. Pressure Cook/Manual Setting on HIGH pressure for 7 minutes.
  • One the cooking time expires, allow for a Natural Pressure Release. Once the pin drops remove the lid and enjoy!

These Instant Pot brats are bratwurst sausages pressure cooked with beer and onion. They are perfect German hot dogs, that pair perfectly with beer, and a great choice for October fest, or simply as a weeknight dinner any time of the year.

6 Bratwurst sausages
1 cup beer
1 onion

Steps:

  • Add the sausages, sliced onions and a splash of beer to an Instant Pot. Select the SAUTE setting, and cook until the sausages have browned on the bottom. Flip, and repeat on the other side.
  • Scrape the bottom of the pot with a wooden spoon or spatula to loosen up any stuck pieces of sausage or onion. Turn off the Instant Pot, and seal it with a lid. Turn it back on. Select the PRESSURE COOK or MANUAL setting, and set it to 5 minutes on high pressure.
  • The Instant Pot takes about 5-10 minutes to pressurize, and will then start counting down. When the timer is up, perform a quick release of the pressure according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Serve the pressure cooked brats in buns as hot dogs, or as an entree paired with any side dishes that you like.

4 (12 ounce) cans beer
1 large onion, diced
10 bratwurst
2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat. When hot, lightly oil grate.
  • Combine the beer and onions in a large pot; bring to a boil. Submerge the bratwurst in the beer; add the red pepper flakes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat to medium and cook another 10 to 12 minutes. Remove the bratwurst from the beer mixture; reduce heat to low, and continue cooking the onions.
  • Cook the bratwurst on the preheated grill, turning once, 5 to 10 minutes. Serve with the beer mixture as a topping or side.

1 can (12 ounces) root beer
3 tablespoons cornstarch
3 teaspoons ground mustard
3 teaspoons caraway seeds
10 uncooked bratwurst links
1 large onion, coarsely chopped
1 bottle (12 ounces) chili sauce
10 hoagie buns, toasted
Optional: Thinly sliced red onion and prepared mustard

Steps:

  • Whisk first 4 ingredients until blended. In a large nonstick skillet, brown bratwursts over medium-high heat. Transfer to a 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker. Add onion, chili sauce and root beer mixture., Cook, covered, on low 6-8 hours or until a thermometer inserted in sausage reads at least 160°. Serve in buns. If desired, top with onion and mustard.
