6 cups flour
3 (1 ounce) packages yeast
1/2 cup sugar
8 eggs, beaten room temperature
2 cups milk, warmed
1/4 lb butter, melted (1 stick butter)
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together with hands for 5 minutes until dough is smooth.
  • Let rise 1 hour.
  • Pull off various size pieces and fry in hot oil.
  • Drain on towels and sprinkle with sugar.

2 (1/4 ounce) packages active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water (110Â to 115Â )
1 1/2 cups warm milk (110Â to 115Â )
5 large eggs, lightly beaten
5 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 -5 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
oil, for deep-fat frying
1 cup cinnamon, optional, see next line
1 -1 1/2 cup sugar, optional, see line above

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
  • Add the milk, eggs, sugar, butter and salt; beat until smooth.
  • Stir in enough flour to form a soft dough (do not knead).
  • Start with 5 cups flour, although you may need to use 5 1/2 or so, until dough is not sticky.
  • Place in a greased bowl turning once to grease top.
  • Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  • In an electric skillet, heat oil to 375°. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough, a few at a time, into hot oil. Fry for 1-1/2 to 2 minutes on each side or until deep golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  • Immediately roll warm doughnuts in sugar and cinnamon mixture, or serve with syrup.

550 gr de farinha
200 gr de açucar
4 ovos
250 ml de leite
raspa de 1 laranja
sumo de 2 laranjas
30 ml de vinho do porto

Steps:

  • Mistura-se todos os ingredientes secos e depois o leite e por fim o sumo das laranjas. Depois de aquecer um pouco a forma no oleo quente. Começa-se a fazer as filhoses mergulhando um pouco a forma no creme e depois no oleo para se soltar da forma. Depois de fritos é so passar por açucar e canela.

300 g de farinha de trigo;
0,5 l de leite;
3 ovos;
3 gemas;
sumo e raspa de 1 laranja;
1 colher (sopa) de açúcar;
60g de margarina

Steps:

  • Deite a farinha numa malga e abra-lhe uma cavidade ao centro. Deite aí o açúcar, os ovos e as gemas, a raspa e o sumo de 1 laranja e comece a mexer no meio, envolvendo a farinha. Vá juntando o leite frio, em fio, mexendo sempre. Passe depois por um passador. Seguidamente, derreta a margarina e junte-a ao preparado mexendo tudo muito bem.
