FRENCH ONION POPCORN

"French onion is one of my favorite flavors, and it adds a nice kick to salted popcorn," says Trisha.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 tablespoon dried shallots
2 teaspoons dried chives
2 teaspoons dried minced garlic
1 to 2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon onion powder
Kosher salt
1 2.8-ounce bag microwave popcorn, popped
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Steps:

  • Combine the shallots, chives, garlic, sugar, onion powder and 1 teaspoon salt in a mixing bowl.
  • Place the popped popcorn in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle the melted butter over the popcorn. Sprinkle with the spice mix. Toss vigorously to coat.

2 tablespoons grapeseed oil (or other mild oil)
1 cup popcorn
herbes de provence (to taste)
celery salt (or to taste)
salt (to taste)

Steps:

  • Melt the butter with the garlic. Remove from the heat and allow to infuse.
  • Heat the oil in a large pot and add the popcorn, tossing to coat. Cover and shake the pot over high heat until all the kernels have popped.
  • Remove the garlic from the butter and pour the butter over the popcorn. Toss.
  • Sprinkle with the herbes de provence, celery salt and salt, and toss again. Voila.
