5 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon oregano
½ teaspoon dried thyme
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
5 thick slices day-old bread with crusts removed, cut into cubes

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Mix butter, Parmesan cheese, oregano, thyme, garlic powder, and salt together in a large, flat-bottomed bowl; add bread cubes and turn with a spatula to coat. Spread coated bread cubes onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake in preheated oven until golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes. Cool croutons completely before storing in an airtight container.

2 large garlic cloves, sliced thin lengthwise
1 teaspoon dried oregano, crumbled
1 teaspoon dried basil, crumbled
1 teaspoon dried thyme, crumbled
1/2 teaspoon salt plus additional to taste
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup olive oil
1 loaf of Italian bread, cut into 3/4-inch cubes (about 7 cups)
1/4 cup finely grated fresh Parmesan

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan combine the garlic, the oregano, the basil, the thyme, 1/2 teaspoon of the salt, the pepper, and the oil and simmer the mixture for 5 minutes, and discard the garlic. In a bowl toss the bread cubes with the oil mixture, spread them in a jelly-roll pan, and bake them in ht e middle of a preheated 350°F oven for 8 minutes. Sprinkle the croutons with the Parmesan and bake them for 7 minutes more, or until they are golden. Sprinkle the croutons with the additional salt and let them cool. The croutons keep in an airtight container for 1 week. Serve the croutons as a topping for tossed green salad.

1 Low sodium loaf of bread -cut into 3/4-inch cubes
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 Tbsp No salt garlic and herb
1/2 teaspoon black pepper (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Cube the bread evenly to the desired size. Even size cubes allow it to cook evenly.
  • In a large bowl, evenly drizzle or spray the olive oil over the bread cubes. Then evenly sprinkle the No Salt Garlic Herb seasoning and pepper over the bread. Toss gently until well-combined.
  • In a single layer spread the bread cubes out on a large baking sheet.
  • Bake until golden about 15 minutes, turning once halfway through cooking in order to brown all sides of the croutons. Your cooking time will depend on the thickness of the cubes and oven heat. Be sure to watch that they do not burn.
  • Remove from oven, and let cool completely. Use immediately, or store in an air-tight container for up to 1 week. I store in Ziploc bag in fridge up to two weeks no problem.

1 : 15oz loaf Italian bread (day old)
3 Tb olive oil
1/4 C unsalted butter (melted)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried basil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Slice bread into cubes. Add half of the bread cubes to a large bowl. Set aside.
  • Combine olive oil, melted butter and seasonings. Whisk well to combine. Drizzle half of the mixture over half of the bread cubes in the bowl. Toss to coat well. Transfer to prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining bread cubes and butter mixture. Spread cubes into an even layer.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, tossing every 10-15 minutes. Cook until crisp and lightly golden.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300F. Lightly grease a baking sheet. Set aside.

Half a loaf of French bread (I use my garlic French bread)
¼ to ½ cup olive oil
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon salt
2-3 teaspoons of your favorite hard Italian cheese (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  • Cut the bread into cubes about ½" in size and place in a large bowl. Drizzle in ¼ cup olive oil, and toss to coat. If the pieces look equally coated, move onto the next step. If some pieces look dry, drizzle in more olive oil a tablespoon at a time, tossing to coat.
  • Sprinkle in the onion powder, garlic powder, parsley, thyme, salt, and cheese, if using. Toss to coat.
  • Spread the pieces in an even layer on the baking sheet and bake for 13-15 minutes until golden brown and the oil on the croutons is sizzling. Croutons can burn quickly, so keep an eye on the croutons after 10 minutes.
