Soy and Honey Glazed Pork Chops image

These soy and honey glazed pork chops bring Asian flavors to the table to create a delicious sweet and salty main dish.

Provided by Christine Skari

Categories     Main

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 pork chops (thick, not thin cut)
1 tbsp honey
2 tbsp brown sugar
¼ cup soy sauce
4 cloves garlic minced
1 tsp ginger minced
1 tbsp sesame oil
Green onion (optional)
Sesame seed (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Mix together the honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger in a large ziplock bag. Add in the pork chops and shake to coat the pork chops evenly. Let marinade for 20-30 minutes.
  • Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet on medium heat. Add in the pork chops, reserving the marinade, and cook for about 3-5 minutes until a golden brown color. Flip the pork chops and cook the other side until a similar color.
  • Add the skillet into the oven and cook for 6-10 minutes, or until no longer raw. *You don't want to overcook them so they become dry!*
  • While the pork chops are cooking, add the reserved marinade into a small pot and bring it to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for 2-3 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve the pork chops over rice with plenty of the thickened marinade drizzled on top. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onion.

HONEY-SOY GLAZED PORK CHOPS

Honey-Soy Glazed Pork Chops image

I found this recipe on another website, however I do not remember which one. This is quick and easy to prepare. The sauce is delicious served over rice. Do not cook the sauce too long as the soy sauce can become very intense. I usually double the sauce mixture and garlic but that is just my preference.

Provided by Nanette62

Categories     High Protein

Time 25m

Yield 2-4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 boneless pork chops, 3/4 inch thick (approx. 4 ounces each)
1/4 teaspoon fresh coarse ground black pepper
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce (I prefer low sodium)
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
1 garlic clove, minced
2 green onions, sliced for garnish (optional)

Steps:

  • Sprinkle 1 side of each pork chop with black pepper.
  • Heat nonstick skillet over medium high heat until hot.
  • Add pork chops, pepper side down, and cook approximately.
  • 4 minutes or until browned.
  • Reduce heat to medium, turn pork chops and cook 6 to 8 minutes longer or until they just lose their pink color.
  • Transfer pork chops to platter, cover to keep warm.
  • While pork chops are cooking, in a cup or small bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar and cornstarch until smooth.
  • After removing pork chops, add garlic to skillet, cook 30 seconds, stirring (no longer so it does not burn).
  • Stir honey mixture into skillet (mixture will boil) and cook 1 to 2 minutes, stirring.
  • The longer the sauce mixture cooks, the soy sauce flavor becomes stronger.
  • Spoon sauce over pork chops.
  • Sprinkle with green onions for garnish, if desired.

Soy and Honey Pork Chops image

Grilled pork chops brushed with a honey and soy sauce mix. To round out the meal, serve with creamy chive and garlic mashed potatoes.

Provided by Ashley

Categories     Main Dish Recipes     Pork     Pork Chop Recipes     Boneless

Time 30m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 8

½ cup honey
¼ cup soy sauce
1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
1 pinch freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
4 center-cut boneless pork chops - 1/2-inch thick
2 teaspoons canola oil, or as needed
salt to taste
1 large sweet onion, sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat, and lightly oil the grate.
  • Mix honey, soy sauce, crushed red pepper flakes, and black pepper in a bowl. Pour about 2 tablespoons of the honey-soy mixture into a small bowl and save for later. Brush chops with canola oil on both sides, and sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
  • Grill the chops on the hottest part of the grill until lightly charred and crusty, 4 to 5 minutes per side. Move the chops to a cooler area of the grill, and continue to cook, brushing both sides generously with the honey-soy glaze, until chops are no longer pink inside, about 3 to 4 more minutes. The juices should run clear, and an instant-read meat thermometer inserted into the center of a chop should read at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
  • While chops are grilling, brush slices of onion with oil, and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Grill onion slices until they are translucent and browned, 3 to 4 minutes per side. To serve, place chops and onions on warmed plates, and brush the chops with the reserved honey-soy glaze.
