Steps:
- In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add egg; mix well. Gradually add dry cake mix and cornflakes. Set aside 1-1/2 cups for topping. Press remaining dough into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan., Carefully spread jam over crust. Sprinkle with reserved dough; gently press down. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into bars.

SHORTBREAD JAM SQUARES RECIPE BY TASTY
Here's what you need: butter, caster sugar, egg, oil, vanilla extract, plain flour, baking powder, blackcurrant jam, icing sugar

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 180˚C (350˚F).
- In a bowl, whisk together the butter and sugar until combined.
- Whisk in the egg, oil, and vanilla extract.
- Mix in the baking powder and 250 grams (2 cups) of the flour with a spoon until combined.
- Bring the mixture together using your hands to make a dough.
- Spray a 23 centimeter (9 inch) square baking tray with cooking oil. Spread out half of the dough on the tray.
- Prick the dough with a fork to prevent bubbles from forming while baking.
- Spread the blackcurrant jam on top.
- With the remaining dough, mix in the remaining flour and rub with your fingers to make a crumb like texture.
- Sprinkle the crumbs on top of the jam.
- Bake for 20 minutes, until golden brown on top.
- Leave to cool for around 20 minutes, the jam will be hot!
- Sieve icing sugar on top.
- Cut into squares.
- Enjoy!

- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Combine the flour, oats, baking soda and cinnamon; stir into the creamed mixture. Mix in the walnuts. Set aside 2 cups of the mixture. Press remaining mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Spread preserves over the base and crumble the reserved oat mixture over the top.

- Heat oven to 375°F. Spray 9-inch square pan with cooking spray.
- In large bowl, place cookie mix. Cut in butter and cream cheese, using pastry blender or fork, until mixture is crumbly (do not overmix). Press 3 cups mixture in bottom of pan. To remaining cookie mixture, stir in oats; set aside. Bake cookie base 20 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.
- In medium bowl, mix Filling ingredients. Spread mixture on partially baked crust. Sprinkle reserved oat mixture over filling.
- Bake 26 to 30 minutes or until light golden brown and bubbling along edges. Cool on cooling rack 30 minutes. Refrigerate 2 hours before cutting. Cut into 4 rows by 4 rows. Cover and refrigerate any remaining bars.

- Finely grind almonds in a food processor. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Whisk together almonds, flour, sugar, salt, and almond extract. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until it'scompletely incorporated.
- Line 2 baking sheets with parchment. Firmly press 2 tablespoons dough into the bottom of a 2 1/2-inch round cookie cutter, then gently lift cutter to leave dough on parchment. One of the quickest, tastiest bar cookie recipes I've used. You can alter the taste by changing fruit preserve flavors. It's a perfect cookie to bring to any pot luck function, but make sure you bring the recipe too, people will ask for it!

- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Cut in the shortening until the mixture is coarse and crumbly. Stir in the egg. I use my hands to mix it all together, it just seems easier. Press about half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan. Spread the raspberry preserves over the crust then sprinkle with the remaining crumb mixture.
- Bake for about 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly toasted. Careful not to overcook. Cool in the pan on a wire rack. Then cut into squares, enjoy!

- In the bowl of a food processor, add flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Also, add in white and brown sugar. Pulse it a couple of times to mix the dry ingredients.
- Add cold, cubed butter, and process until the dough looks coarse and crumbly. If you try to squeeze some dough in your hands, it should clump together. Alternatively, you can add all the dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Use a fork or pastry cutter to blend in the cubed butter until you have a crumbly dough.
- Reserve 3/4 cup of the dough for the crumble topping. Pat the rest of the dough into the prepared pan. Bake the crust for 10 minutes.
