WACKY CAKE VIII

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
• Sift flour, sugar, salt, soda, and cocoa together into an 8x8 inch ungreased cake pan. Make three depressions. Pour oil into one well, vinegar into second, and vanilla into third well. Pour water over all, and stir well with fork.
• Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 to 40 minutes, or until tooth pick inserted comes out clean. Frost with your favorite icing.

GROOVY JEANS CAKE

Steps:

• Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Make and bake cake as directed on box for 13x9-inch pan. Cool 10 minutes. Run knife around sides of pan to loosen cake; remove from pan to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 1 hour. For easier handling, refrigerate or freeze cake 30 to 60 minutes or until firm.
• Tint 1/3 cup frosting with yellow food color. Tint remaining frosting with blue food color. Spoon yellow frosting into resealable food-storage plastic bag or disposable pastry bag; set aside. Remove cake from freezer. Using serrated knife, cut rounded top off cake to level surface; place cake cut side down. Use toothpicks to mark sections of cake to be cut (template can be found under the Tips below); cut cake into sections.
• On tray, place largest piece. Place 1 1/2-inch strip of cake along top edge of jeans; cut off excess. Place triangles along outer edges of legs. Attach cake pieces with a small amount of blue frosting. Frost with a thin layer of blue frosting to seal in crumbs. Refrigerate or freeze 30 to 60 minutes to set frosting. Frost entire cake. Use fork or decorating comb to create fabric texture, if desired.
• To decorate cake, cut fruit snack into 8-inch length and 6-inch length. Place fruit snack on top edge of cake, overlapping in center, for belt. Cut off very small corner of yellow bag of frosting. Pipe frosting for pocket, zipper and cuff stitching. Decorate as desired with candies. Store loosely.

WACKY CAKE V

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 9 x 13 inch pan, or three 8 inch round pans.
• Stir together flour, soda, cocoa, sugar, sugar substitute, and salt. Stir in vanilla, water, vinegar, and oil. Pour batter into prepared pan(s).
• Bake cake in a rectangular pan or three round pans for 35 minutes, or until done. Cool.

JEAN'S WHITE WACKY CAKE

Steps:

• Sift flour, sugar, custard powder,soda and salt into an ungreased 8"x8" baking dish.
• Punch 3 holes in the flour mixture and add the shortening in the largest hole, vinegar in the next and vanilla in the last hole.
• Cover with cold water.
• Stir with a fork paying attention to the sides and corners.
• Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes (until a toothpick comes out clean).
• This recipe doubles easily into a 9"x13" pan.

WHITE WACKY CAKE

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Have ready an ungreased 8-inch square cake pan.
• Sift flour, baking soda and powder, sugar and salt into a bowl.
• Make 3 holes in the dry ingredients. Into one hole pour the vanilla, in second hole pour vinegar and into last hole pour melted butter.
• Quickly pour LUKEWARM water over all. Beat well. Pour batter into reserved cake pan. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes or till a cake tester comes out cleanly.
• Cake may be served with fresh strawberries and creme fraiche.
• To make a layer cake, make a double recipe and bake in two 9-inch round ungreased cake pans that have been lined with parchment paper for easier removal. Frost with your favorite icing.

WACKY CAKE

Steps:

• Preheat 350 degrees F.
• Place the dry ingredients in a bowl. Make 3 small holes in the mixture. Pour the vanilla in one hole, the vinegar in another and vegetable oil in another. Pour water over the top and mix. Pour into a lightly greased 8 by 8 inch pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
