6 lemons, washed
2 liters best-quality vodka

Steps:

  • Using a vegetable peeler, remove peel from lemons in large strips, making sure not to remove any of the white pith. Reserve lemons for another use.
  • Place lemon peel in a large jar with a lid; add vodka. Cover and let stand at room temperature at least 3 days and up to 1 month. Strain before using.

750 milliliters vodka
26 grams fresh lemon peel (about 1/2 cup, from 2 lemons)

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • In a 1-quart (or larger) jar, pour the vodka and add the lemon peels. Seal, shake, and let infuse for 4 to 7 days. Shake the jar daily and test the infusion after the third or fourth day to see how the flavor develops.
  • Once the infusion reaches your desired flavor intensity, strain out and discard the lemon peels using a fine-mesh strainer.
  • Bottle the lemon vodka under a tight seal. Store in a cool, dark place as you would other liquors, and use in your favorite drinks.

Steps:

  • Run lemon wedge around the rim of a cocktail glass to dampen, then dip in sugar to coat.
  • Combine vodka, lemon juice, lemon simple syrup, and orange-flavored liqueur in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, seal, and shake until shaker frosts over. Pour into a martini glass to serve.

When I saw the episode of Ricardo doing this lemon vodka, I knew I had to try it. It's so yummy. You have to try it. The bottle has to be in a dark area for at least 7 days.

3 grated washed lemons, zest and juice
1/2 cup sugar
3 cups plain vodka

Steps:

  • In a saucepan, bring the juice, zest and sugar to a boil. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Cool.
  • In a bottle or a sealed glass container, combine the syrup and vodka. Allow to infuse in a dark area for 7 or more days.
  • Place a coffee filter in a strainer and filter the alcohol.
  • Store in the freezer until ready to serve.
  • Delicious after a winter activity. This lemon vodka is served in shot glass, in cocktails and martinis.
