Lemon Infused Vodka Recipes

INFUSED VODKA

Steps:

• Wash and dry the lemon, lime, and orange. Using a zester or a strong vegetable peeler, peel the skin of each citrus fruit to create narrow ribbons.;
• When handling peppers, it's best to use rubber gloves; some varieties can sting or even burn the skin. Wash and dry the peppers and slit them lengthwise into slivers. For stronger flavor, leave the seeds intact. For milder flavor, remove. Avoid getting the juice near eyes.
• For Both Recipes: Clean bottle in warm sudsy water. Rinse and dry. Gently place the citrus peels or peppers into the gift bottle, pour in the vodka, and cover the top of the bottle. (Do not seal at this point) Place the bottle in the refrigerator and let the ingredients steep for at least 3 hours - 2 days is better. Before giving, top off the bottle with additional vodka. (The infusion ingredients will soak up some of the vodka.) Seal the bottle with a cork or glass bottle stopper and seal with sealing wax. Tie a thin metal wire or fabric ribbon around the top of the neck, if so desired.

LEMON INFUSED VODKA RECIPE

Steps:

• Gather the ingredients.
• In a 1-quart (or larger) jar, pour the vodka and add the lemon peels. Seal, shake, and let infuse for 4 to 7 days. Shake the jar daily and test the infusion after the third or fourth day to see how the flavor develops.
• Once the infusion reaches your desired flavor intensity, strain out and discard the lemon peels using a fine-mesh strainer.
• Bottle the lemon vodka under a tight seal. Store in a cool, dark place as you would other liquors, and use in your favorite drinks.

LEMON VODKA

Steps:

• In a saucepan, bring the juice, zest and sugar to a boil. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Cool.
• In a bottle or a sealed glass container, combine the syrup and vodka. Allow to infuse in a dark area for 7 or more days.
• Place a coffee filter in a strainer and filter the alcohol.
• Store in the freezer until ready to serve.
• Delicious after a winter activity. This lemon vodka is served in shot glass, in cocktails and martinis.

LEMON-FLAVORED VODKA

Steps:

• Using a vegetable peeler, remove peel from lemons in large strips, making sure not to remove any of the white pith. Reserve lemons for another use.
• Place lemon peel in a large jar with a lid; add vodka. Cover and let stand at room temperature at least 3 days and up to 1 month. Strain before using.

MEYER LEMON-INFUSED VODKA

Steps:

• Peel Meyer lemons using vegetable peeler.
• Stuff lemons peels into bottle of vodka. Let steep for 2 weeks.

LEMON GINGER INFUSED VODKA

Steps:

• Poke lemons with skewer or sticks to release flavor.
• Slice ginger into small slices.
• Place both into bottle or other appropriate container that has lid.
• Fill jar with vodka and let sit for 2 weeks.
• Strain and pour into decorative decanter or bottle.
