MAMA'S ENGLISH PEAS WITH SAUTEED ONION

Mama's English Peas with Sauteed Onion image

Sautéing the onion in bacon drippings makes these extra yummy ! My mom always used the very early green peas and so do I... and now my daughter does, too. They taste totally different than the big fat ones. Try it. I'm sure you'll love em !

SAUTEED SPRING PEAS, ASPARAGUS, RED PEPPERS AND ONIONS

Sauteed Spring Peas, Asparagus, Red Peppers and Onions image

This is a wonderful side dish from "What To Have For Dinner" by Martha Stewart. Fast, easy and delicious. We enjoy this with lamb chops especially -- but excellent with a variety of main dishes.

CREAMED PEAS WITH MUSHROOMS AND ONIONS.

Creamed Peas With Mushrooms and Onions. image

Yummy side dish. I love peas! Use low fat milk for a lighter sauce or half and half for a richer sauce. I usually use what I have on hand. Sometimes I add a small handful of swiss cheese and a small handful of grated parmesean cheese to make it even yummier! I also find canned mushrooms work well in this if you are not against all things canned :) This is from southern cooking.
