A chocolate chip cookie adaptation EVEN my hubbie enjoys. The idea came from a cookie recipe submitted by Diane Abed.

Number Of Ingredients 9

½ cup butter, softened
½ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
1 egg
1 ½ tablespoons brandy
1 ½ cups unbleached all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
¾ cup semisweet chocolate chips
¾ cup golden raisin and cherry dried fruit mix

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and brandy. Combine the flour and baking soda; stir into the sugar mixture. Mix in the chocolate chips and dried fruit mix. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Cookies should be about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, cookies taste best when taken from the oven while still slightly doughy. Cool on cookie sheets for a few minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

1 tbs. creamy peanut butter
1 tbs. chocolate syrup
1/2 oz. Kahlua or coffee liqueur
1/2 oz. dark rum
1/2 oz. vodka
1 oz. almond milk
Ice
Torched mini-marshmallows for garnish

Steps:

  • In a pint glass, mix together the peanut butter and chocolate syrup. Stir in the Kahlua until well blended. Stir in the vodka and rum and then add the almond milk. Fill a martini shaker with ice and add mixture. Shake vigorously until very well chilled. Drizzle the insides of a martini glass with chocolate syrup. Strain cocktail into the martini glass. Put 3-4 mini-marshmallows onto a skewer and toast with a butane torch. Place over glass.

A friend gave me this recipe several years ago. She said a local minister's wife fixed it every Sunday, so she named it accordingly -Mary Ann Potter, Blue Springs, Missouri

1 can (21 ounces) cherry or apple pie filling
1 package yellow cake mix (regular size)
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup chopped walnuts, optional

Steps:

  • Place pie filling in a 1-1/2-qt. slow cooker. Combine cake mix and butter (mixture will be crumbly); sprinkle over filling. Sprinkle with walnuts if desired. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours. Serve in bowls.

21 ounces cherry pie filling
18 ounces yellow cake mix
8 tablespoons margarine or 8 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • place one can of cherry pie filling in the bottom or a 9 x 13 cake pan (or can use a smaller pan) . In a large bowl, combine one yellow cake mix, and the melted margarine, (nothing else, just those two ingredients). Mix well, will be a little dry and crumbly. dot cake mixture on top of pie filling as evenly as possible. place in oven and bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes.
  • This recipe can also be made in a crock pot on low for 2-3 hours.
