Time 10m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 (10 ounce) packet Marie biscuits
1 (330 ml) can condensed milk (standard or skim)
2 (330 ml) cartons cream
3 teaspoons gelatin powder, made to manufacturers instructions
butter or margarine, to grease bowl

Steps:

  • Place Marie biscuits in food processor and process until very fine. Grease a large bowl or casserole dish lightly with butter or margarine.
  • Using a cake beater/ mixer, add the 2 cartons of cream. Mix until it just coats the back of a spoon- just before it becomes thick.
  • We still need a runny consistency. This is the trick to getting this just right.
  • Add the can of condensed milk.
  • Keep mixing for another minute to ensure it is incorporated.
  • Stop the beaters.
  • Add the prepared gelatin to the creamy, condensed milk mixture. Stir it inches.
  • Add this mixture to your prepared dish or bowl.
  • Put the processed biscuits on top of this mixture.
  • Allow to set overnight in refrigerator.
  • Serve up and enjoy.

  • Crush the cookies until very fine. I used a food processor, but the old fashioned method of putting them in a plastic bag and crushing them with a rolling pin works, too.
  • Form the layers by alternating cookie crumbs and whipped cream. Leave some room at the top for the glaze.
  • To make the glaze, stir the water into the preserves and heat in the microwave for less than a minute until it becomes easy to spread. Spoon onto the serradura and gently spread.

  • Transfer the Marie biscuits into a food processor/blender and make a fine powder that almost looks like sawdust.
  • In the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment/ or use a hand blender, add in the chilled heavy cream, beat on medium-high speed until it forms soft peaks.
  • Now add in the condensed milk along with the vanilla extract and beat until it forms stiff peak. Do not overbeat or else you will end up with butter.
  • Assembling the pudding- Spoon the whipped cream mixture in a serving glass (You may use a piping bag like I did, for a neater finish), then top with the crushed Marie biscuit powder, continue layering with the cream and Marie biscuit powder, ending with the cream layer. Sprinkle some of the crushed Marie biscuit powder on top, and refrigerate it for about 4-6 hours so that it sets well. Garnish with cherries or chocolate shavings and serve chilled.
