PURPLE SMOOTHIE POPS

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 cups plain Greek yogurt
2 cups frozen blueberries
2 cups frozen mixed berries (or frozen strawberries)
1/4 cup honey
1 banana, peeled
1/4 head red cabbage
1 cup cranberry or grape juice (or any deep red/purple juice)

Steps:

  • Add the yogurt, frozen berries, honey, banana and cabbage to a blender. Then pour in the juice and blend until smooth!
  • Pour into ice-pop molds and stash them in the freezer until totally frozen. Remove and eat as required!

This is my go-to smoothie of choice. My kids (all 4) absolutely love it for the flavor as well as the purple color. It's fun, easy, and the kids can even help out! Feel free to add or subtract any of the fruit, honey, or sugar to your taste preference.

½ cup nonfat vanilla yogurt (such as Dannon® Light and Fit®)
½ cup sliced strawberries
½ cup water
½ cup nonfat powdered milk
1 banana, cut in chunks
¼ cup blueberries, or to taste
¼ cup raspberries, or to taste
¼ cup blackberries, or to taste
2 scoops vanilla whey protein powder
1 cup crushed ice
3 tablespoons turbinado sugar (such as Sugar in the Raw®)
1 tablespoon honey

Steps:

  • Pulse yogurt, strawberries, water, powdered milk, banana, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and protein powder together in a blender until well-mixed. Add ice, sugar, and honey and blend until smooth.

It never dawned on me to add flax seeds for extra nutrition, and you can't even taste it.This smoothie is the best I've made so far. I did use raspberry yogurt in place of soy milk. Feel free to substitute based on what you have on hand. Smoothies are great for filling you up and taking away your cravings for sweets. 1 1/2 cups blueberries (fresh or frozen, use a mixture) or 1 1/2 cups raspberries (fresh or frozen, use a mixture)
1 cup soymilk (or other non-dairy milk of choice)
1/2 cup cherries, pitted (fresh or frozen)
1/2 cup pomegranate juice or 1/2 cup cranberry juice
1 tablespoon ground flax seeds
1/2 cup ice cube (optional)

Steps:

  • Place berries, soy milk, cherries, pomegranate juice, and flax seeds in a blender and blend for 1 minute or until completely smooth.
  • If you're using fresh fruit and would like a frozen smoothie, add ice cubes and blend for 1 minute or until completely smooth.
  • Divide mixture between 2 tall glasses and serve.
