BUTTERY BUBBLE BREAD
Homemade bread can be time-consuming, difficult and tricky to make. But this fun-to-eat monkey bread, baked in a fluted tube pan, is easy and almost foolproof. If I'm serving it for breakfast, I add some cinnamon and drizzle it with icing. —Pat Stevens, Granbury, Texas

- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the sugar, shortening, egg, salt and 1 cup of flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour., Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; shape into 1-1/2-in. balls. Dip the balls in butter and arrange evenly in a greased 9-in. fluted tube pan. Drizzle with remaining butter. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes., Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes before inverting onto a serving platter. Serve warm.

SAVORY BUBBLE BUNS
Steps:
- Place water in bowl of stand mixer and sprinkle yeast over. Let stand until bubbly, 5 to 10 minutes. Stir in butter, sour cream, sugar, egg and vanilla. Beat in 2 cups of flour, the salt and baking soda until incorporated. Add remaining flour and continue to mix until a smooth, soft dough forms.
- Knead dough until smooth, using the dough hook attachment, about 2-3 minutes. Cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Grease a 12-cup muffin pan or line with muffin cups. Roll dough into a long cylinder and then divide into 12 equal portions. Divide each of the 12 portions into 4 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
- For each bun, coat four balls with melted butter and then roll them in a bowl of seasoning. Arrange three balls in the bottom of a prepared muffin cup. Using your fingertip, make a small well in the center and press in the fourth ball. Repeat with remaining dough and muffin cups.
- Cover buns loosely with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place until puffy and have doubled in size, about 40 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake buns until golden, 20-22 minutes. Let cool in pan. Use a knife to help remove buns from pan.

Steps:
- Spray 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
- Punch down bread dough after it has thawed and doubled in size.
- With a sharp knife, cut dough into 32 equal pieces.
- In a small bowl, combine ground cinnamon and sugar - Mix well.
- Roll each piece of dough in sugar mixture until evenly coated.
- Place sugared pieces in loaf pan and cover with plastic wrap or towel until it has raised to top of pan.
- Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
- Remove from pan and cool on cooling rack.
- In small bowl, combine powdered sugar, margarine, vanilla and enough milk to make desired consistency of glaze.
- Stir until smoothand drizzle over bubble bread.
- Slice and serve warm.
