Tamarind Whiskey Sour Recipes
SWEET AND SOUR TAMARIND SAUCE
This is my version of a popular sauce that can be tweaked in a lot of ways to suit one's taste, either more to the sweet side or sour side. It's great with small fried items, like fried tofu, egg rolls, or samosas.

Steps:
- Heat water in a saucepan over low heat. Dissolve sugar and tamarind powder in warm water; add soy sauce, peanuts, and red onions. Increase heat to medium-high and cook until onions become slightly translucent, 3 to 5 minutes.
- Stir cilantro into the sauce; continue cooking until thickened to your liking, 5 to 7 minutes more.

- Bring palm sugar and 1/3 cup water to a boil in a small saucepan; cook, stirring occasionally, until sugar is dissolved. Let cool.
- For cocktail:
- For each cocktail, combine 1 1/2 ounces bourbon, 1 ounce lime juice, 1 ounce palm sugar syrup, and 1/2 ounce tamarind concentrate in a cocktail shaker; fill shaker with ice and shake until outside is frosty, about 30 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice and serve with an orange wedge and a cherry.
TAMARIND MAPLE WHISKEY SOUR
Tamarind lends a rich flavor, with notes of raisin and dried fruit, to this longtime staple, complemented by the sweetness of the maple whiskey. Tamarind nectar concentrate can be found in the frozen section of most international markets. For a smoky twist, try using smoked maple bourbon whiskey, such as Knob Creek®. Garnish with a slice of lemon and a Luxardo® cherry.

- Bring sugar to boil, stirring till dissolved. Cool.
- Combine 1.5 oz bourbon, 1 oz lime juice, 1 oz palm sugar syrup and .5 oz tamarind concentrate in a cocktail shaker.
- Fill shaker with ice. Shake until the outside is frosty - about 30 seconds.
- Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice and serve with an orange wedge and cherry.
- Enjoy.
- Repeat.
