Steps:
- Stir together all ingredients in a 2- to 3-quart heavy saucepan, then bring to a boil, covered. Remove lid and reduce heat, then simmer until cranberries have burst, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and cool, uncovered. Chill, covered, at least 8 hours for flavors to meld. Serve at room temperature.
SWEET & TART CRANBERRY RELISH
This is the only cranberry relish my kids will eat. It can be made up to one week ahead of time, and I personally think it gets better after it sits for a day or two. If you have leftovers after a big meal, spoon it over turkey sandwiches the next day.-Sheila Tate, Hartselle, Alabama

GRANDMA'S CRANBERRY RELISH
This is a tart and tangy cranberry side dish, perfect for any holiday meal! My grandmother's recipe that my mom still makes as a family tradition.

Steps:
- Wash and drain cranberries.
- Cut whole orange into quarters.
- Chop in food processor until pieces are minced. You may need to do this in portions depending on the size of your food processor.
- Pour into a bowl and mix in sugar.
- Allow to rest in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Serve with turkey, ham, or your favorite holiday meal.
SWEET-AND-TART CRANBERRY SAUCE

- Bring 1 bag cranberries, sugar, and orange juice to boil in medium saucepan, stirring until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat to medium. Simmer until sauce is bubbling thickly, about 10 minutes. Cool. (Can be made 1 week ahead. Cover; chill.)
- Using on/off turns, chop remaining bag of cranberries, parsley, and orange peel in processor. Stir cranberry relish into cranberry sauce. (Can be made 4 hours ahead. Cover and refrigerate.)

My favorite food on the holiday menu is cranberry sauce, and I kept trying to find the perfect blend. I put together this recipe in 1989 and have used it ever since.

- Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 10-15 minutes .
- Remove from heat.
- Mash berries with a potato masher.

- Finely shred peel from 1 orange; wrap in plastic wrap and chill until needed. Juice oranges to get 1 cup. In a large saucepan bring orange juice, brown sugar, wine, rosemary, cinnamon stick, and pepper to boiling, stirring until sugar dissolves. Discard rosemary.
- Add cranberries and cherries. Cook over medium heat until cherries are plump and cranberries burst, about 8 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5 more minutes on low. Cool. Remove and discard cinnamon stick.
- Transfer to a storage container. Cover and chill up to 1 week. Let stand at room temperature about 1 hour and top with reserved orange peel before serving.
