This is the easiest recipe. I serve it with mashed potatoes and warm rolls.

4 (1/2 pound) cube steaks (pounded round meat)
1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed French onion soup

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, briefly brown the cube steaks.
  • Arrange meat in a single layer in a 13x9 inch baking dish and pour the soup over the top. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.

2 8-ounce minute steaks
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
2 tablespoons butter
For the Salad:
10 cherry tomatoes (sliced in half)
2 cups arugula
1/4 cup vinaigrette
For Serving:
2/3 cup remoulade

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Season steaks with salt and pepper on both sides, and rub them all over with oil.
  • Heat a grill pan over high heat and cook the steaks until browned on one side, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Flip steaks and cook on the other side until just browned, about 2 to 3 minutes. Don't overcook, or you'll run the risk of toughening the meat.
  • Remove steaks to plates to let the meat rest. Turn off the heat and add 2 tablespoons butter to the skillet to melt.
  • Drizzle the melted butter and juices from the skillet on the steaks.
  • Slice the steaks and plate separately. Serve with a mixture of cherry tomatoes and arugula tossed with vinaigrette. Add some of the rémoulade on top of the steaks. Enjoy.

1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp ground paprika (sweet)
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
peppers
2 onions
1 yellow Bell pepper (about 200 grams)
4 ozs button Mushroom
2 Tbsps vegetable oil
salt
2 elongated Whole wheat buns
4 slices Edam cheese (each about 20 grams)
Fresh herbs (if desired)

Steps:

  • Cut beef into very thin slices. Mix in a shallow bowl with oregano, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce and season with pepper. Set aside, covered.
  • Peel the onions and cut into thin strips. Cut bell pepper into quarters, remove seeds, rinse and cut into thin strips. Trim mushrooms and cut into thin slices.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet. Sauté onion and bell pepper strips while stirring over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  • After 5 minutes, add mushrooms. Season vegetables with salt and pepper and cook until soft, about 10 minutes.
  • Cut the buns horizontally. Toast until light brown on the oven rack under a preheated oven broiler.
  • Distribute vegetable mixture on toasted buns.
  • Heat the remaining oil in the skillet. Fry beef for 1 minute.
  • Divide the meat in the skillet into 2 portions and top with cheese.
  • Melt cheese, then lift the meat from the skillet with a wide spatula and place on the buns. If you want, garnished with herbs to taste before serving.

2 (5 ounce) boneless sirloin steaks
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
½ cup beef broth
1 ½ tablespoons barbeque sauce
1 dash hot pepper sauce
freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon cold butter, or more to taste
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Place each steak between two sheets of heavy plastic (or inside a resealable freezer bag) on a solid, level surface. Firmly pound each steak with the smooth side of a meat mallet to a thickness of 1/4-inch. Remove steaks from plastic.
  • Generously season each steak with salt and ground black pepper. Set aside.
  • Combine beef broth, barbeque sauce, hot sauce, and black pepper in a bowl. Add chilled butter to broth mixture but do not stir.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat until it just begins to smoke, about 1 minute. Place each steak in the pan; sear for 45 to 60 seconds on each side. Remove steaks from skillet and set them aside to rest.
  • Pour the broth mixture into the skillet and bring to a boil while scraping the browned bits of food off of the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Stir occasionally until butter is melted and incorporated, about 2 minutes.
  • Spoon broth and butter mixture over steak and serve.

2 cups stove top flexible serving seasoned stuffing mix
1 red peppers or 1 green pepper, chopped

1 cup hot water

Steps:

  • Mix honey and soy sauce, set aside.
  • Combine stuffing, hot water, butter and red or green pepper.
  • Spoon 1/2 cup stuffing on each steak.

I have no idea where I found this, but I love it. In keeping with most of my cooking, quick and easy are the key words with this recipe. I'm starting to venture into longer and more difficult recipes a bit more, so maybe later recipes will get more complicated.

2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
4 -8 frozen cube steaks
1/2 cup bottled Italian dressing
1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Steps:

  • DO NOT DEFROST THE STEAKS, they must be frozen when cooked, otherwise they become a bit tough.
  • Melt the shortening. Lower heat to medium or medium high.
  • Dip FROZEN steaks in the Italian dressing, next into the crumbs until meat is completely covered.
  • Pan fry meat in hot shortening over medium-high heat, long enough to brown both sides, no more than 2 minutes per side, and if the steak is very thin, that would be too long!
