TWINKIE DREAMSICLE DESSERT

Twinkie Dreamsicle Dessert image

Twinkies and Dreamsicles......things childhood memories are made of and both together in one dish....nothing could be better! A dessert for your kiddies and the oldies like me, who are still kids at heart. Cook/Prep time does not include refrigeration time of 6-8 hours.

Time 25m

Yield 10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

10 Hostess Twinkies, halved lengthwise
1 (3 ounce) package orange Jell-O
1/2 cup boiling water
1 (3 1/2 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup french vanilla liquid coffee creamer
1 (12 ounce) container Cool Whip

Steps:

  • Arrange the Twinkies cut side up in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the Jell-O and boiling water.
  • When Jell-O is dissolved, put the mixture in the refrigerator to cool for 10 minutes.
  • To hasten the process, drop in an ice cube -the extra liquid won't hurt anything.
  • In a large bowl, beat together the pudding mix, milk and coffee creamer for 2 minutes or until slightly thickened.
  • Add the orange Jell-O mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until smooth.
  • Fold in two-thirds of the whipped topping.
  • Pour the orange mixture over the cut Twinkies.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 6-8 hours.
  • Before serving, spread the remaining whipped topping over the top.

HEAVENLY TWINKIE DESSERT

Heavenly Twinkie Dessert image

The other day at the salvage store, I picked up a box of Twinkies, Ho Hos, and Chocolate Cupcakes STILL IN DATE! Oh, the shameful sins of a diabetic who cheats. Shame on MEEE....but they're not all for me. I use 'em do to make desserts, share with Pop when he comes over, and the neighbor's kids that pop in. I checked out the Hostess website and came across this recipe and thought that nothing like this had ever been posted here, nor thought up by my little mind. It's different, using pistachio pudding (one of my favories) and raspberries. I'm thinking this might go to one of our eatin' meetin's if it's really that good.
