HOT SPICED CIDER WITH CALVADOS

Steps:

• In a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the cider, cinnamon sticks, cloves and crystallized ginger.
• Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, cover partially and simmer gently for 30 minutes to blend the flavors.
• Ladle the cider into warmed mugs or cups, adding some of the spices to each serving.
• Stir 2 Tbs Calvados into each mug and serve immediately.

MULLED CIDER WITH CALVADOS

Steps:

• In a saucepan stir together the cider, the brown sugar, the allspice, the nutmeg, the cloves, the cinnamon pieces, and the apple, simmer the mixture, covered, for 10 minutes, and stir in the Calvados. Heat the mixture over moderate heat until it is hot and discard the allspice, the cloves, and the cinnamon. Divide the mulled cider among heated mugs and garnish each drink with a few of the apple slices.

HOLIDAY SPICED CIDER RECIPE BY TASTY

Steps:

• Pierce orange with cloves. (If you have a tea infuser, tea bag or cheese cloth, you can use that to keep the spices under control).
• Pierce apple with allspice.
• Put the orange, apple, cinnamon sticks, apple cider, brown sugar and nutmeg into your slow cooker.
• Turn on high for 2 hours, then keep warm on low until you're ready to drink.
• Drink as is or with a shot (or two) of whiskey, rum, etc.

Steps:

• Boil apple juice in a 4- to 5-quart wide heavy pot over high heat until syrupy and reduced to about 1 1/2 cups, about 50 minutes.
• Combine apple syrup, tea, and Calvados in a 1 1/2- to 2-quart saucepan and heat over moderate heat until hot (do not boil). Divide toddy among 8 small cups and serve with a cinnamon stick in each.
