BETTY WHITE'S CHICKEN WINGS PACIFICA



Betty White's Chicken Wings Pacifica image

Betty White was a class act, just like her famous chicken wing recipe. A simple combination of soy sauce, brown sugar, and mustard form a delicious marinade for the baked wings.

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 pounds chicken wings
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup soy sauce
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

Steps:

  • Remove the tips from the wings. Separate the wings at the joint, if desired. Place the wings in a baking pan. Combine the butter, soy sauce, sugar, water, and mustard in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and let cool. Pour the sauce mixture over the wings. Cover the pan and refrigerate for 2 hours (or up to 8 hours), turning the wings occasionally to coat in the sauce. When ready to cook the wings, preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Remove the cover and place the pan in the oven and bake at 375 degrees F for 1 1/4 hours or until the wings are cooked through. Turn the wings occasionally while cooking. Remove the wings from the pan and place on a serving tray. Serve hot.

  • Disjoint the chicken wings, discarding the tips.
  • Combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, butter or margarine, mustard and water and heat until the sugar and butter dissolve. Let mixture cool and pour over wings. Marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours, turning occasionally.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Bake chicken wings in marinade for 45 minutes, turning once and spooning marinade over chicken occasionally. Drain on paper towels and serve.

25 -30 chicken drummettes
1 cup soy sauce
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon dry mustard
3/4 cup water

Steps:

  • Arrange drumettes in a shallow baking pan.
  • Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, butter, mustard and 3/4 c water; heat until sugar and butter dissolve. Cool; pour over drumettes.
  • Marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours, turning every 1/2 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake drumettes in marinade for 45 minutes, turning once and spooning marinade over chicken occasionally. Drain and serve hot or cold.

1 cup Soy Sauce
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp dry mustard
3/4 cup water

Steps:

  • Arrange wings in shallow baking dish. combine remaining ingredients and heat until sugar and butter dissolves. Cool and pour over wings. Marinate 2 hours or more turning occassionally. Without removing the sauce place in 350 oven and bake 45 minutes to an hr and turning once and spooning some over chix a couple or times. Drain on paper towels and serve hot or cold. Serves 6.
