These taste soooo close to Olive Garden® breadsticks! So delicious! Goes well with pizza, pasta, and soup!

Steps:
- Dissolve 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar and yeast in 1/2 cup warm water in a bowl. Let stand until yeast softens and begins to form a creamy foam, about 5 minutes.
- Beat flour, oil, egg, salt, remaining sugar, and remaining warm water into yeast mixture until smooth, adding more flour if needed to form a soft dough. Turn dough onto a floured work surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6 to 8 minutes.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, turning once to cover completely with oil. Cover bowl with a damp towel and place in a warm area until dough is doubled in size, about 40 minutes.
- Grease a baking sheet.
- Punch dough down and turn onto a floured work surface. Divide dough into 18 pieces and shape each into a 6-inch rope. Arrange dough pieces on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart; cover with a towel or plastic wrap and let rise until doubled in size, about 25 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Remove cover from dough.
- Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes.
- Whisk butter and garlic salt together in a bowl; brush over each breadstick. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over each.

- In a food processor, combine the flour, baking powder, salt and shortening; cover and process until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. While processing, gradually add water until dough forms a ball., Transfer to a floured surface. Roll dough into a 10x8-in. rectangle. Cut into sixteen 10x1/2-in. strips. Twist each strip 4 times and place on baking sheets. Brush with oil. Combine coarse salt and thyme; sprinkle over breadsticks. , Bake at 350° until golden brown and crisp, 18-20 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.

- Mix 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 teaspoon each fennel seeds, poppy seeds and sesame seeds, and 1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper. Roll out an 11-ounce package refrigerated breadstick dough into a 16-by-8-inch rectangle. Cut into twelve 16-inch strips and twist into breadsticks. Brush with the oil mixture. Place on 2 parchment-lined baking sheets and bake in a 400 degrees F oven until golden, about 12 minutes.

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Drizzle the oil over the crusts in a large bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of pepper and toss gently until the crusts are evenly coated in the oil. Add the Parmesan and thyme and toss gently to combine. Spread the crusts out in an even layer on 2 baking sheets. Sprinkle any unstuck cheese and thyme over the crusts.
- Bake, tossing about halfway, until the crusts are deep golden and crunchy, about 20 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheets. Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
BEST CRUNCHY BREADSTICKS
These are a fantastic, light, crunchy, melt-in-your-mouth breadstick. I always serve them at dinner parties or showers.

Steps:
- Mix beer, water, and yeast- let sit until bubbles (about 10 minutes).
- In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, olive oil, and seeds. Combine with yeast mix with an electric mixer with a dough hook or knead by hand until smooth. DON'T OVERMIX! If dough is sticky add a little flour.
- Place in oiled bowl and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Preheat over to 425. Cover cookie sheet with wax or parchment paper and grease with cooking spray.
- Flatten dough with rolling pin to 1" thick and cut into 1/2" thick strips.
- Whisk cream and egg together, then brush over sticks.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes.

These make a wonderful gift for a dinner party. I came up with the recipe when I wanted to contribute something to an invitation. The dough turns out to be very moist and soft, yet the surface is wonderfully crunchy. Makes about 30 bread sticks.

- Put flour and masa harina into a bowl.
- Add dry yeast, salt, pepper, sugar, cheeses,garlic cloves, chili flakes and herbs to the flour and incorporate.
- Add olive oil and water and knead dough for quite a while (i use a food processor with hooks) until a ball forms.
- Cover bowl with a kitchen towel and let dough rise for up to one our.
- Shape sticks:.
- Take a walnut sized piece of dough, shape into a ball and then rotate between your palms until they have reached their ideal stick-shape :).
- Line a cookie tray with non stick paper.
- Place bread stick rolls on the tray (better keep some distance between them, as they will rise).
- Brush with Olive oil.
- Let bake at 200°C until golden brown. (about 10 min.).
- Let cool and wrap in paper.

- Dissolve sugar and yeast in 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon warm water in a bowl. Let stand until yeast softens and begins to form a creamy foam, about 5 minutes.
- Combine flour and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix 2 tablespoons butter into flour mixture until incorporated. Pour yeast mixture into flour mixture and knead dough using the dough hook attachment until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.

CRUSTY BREADSTICKS WITH ROSEMARY

- Place water in large bowl of electric mixer fitted with dough hook. Add yeast and pinch of sugar; stir to blend. Let stand until foamy, about 10 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon salt and chopped rosemary; beat at medium speed until blended. Add 4 cups flour, 1 cup at a time, beating until well incorporated. Mix milk and oil in small bowl. With mixer running on low speed, gradually add milk mixture. Increase speed to medium; beat 6 minutes. Scrape dough from hook and sides of bowl (dough will be soft and sticky). Let dough rest in bowl 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle 2 heavy large baking sheets generously with cornmeal. Turn out dough onto floured surface and knead until soft and slightly sticky, adding more flour if necessary. Divide dough into 12 equal pieces. Let dough rest 10 minutes.
- Roll each dough piece between work surface and palms of hands to 12-inch long rope. Arrange 6 ropes on each baking sheet, spacing apart. Break small green clusters off rosemary sprigs. Insert stem end of rosemary clusters along top of breadsticks, spacing rosemary 2 inches apart. Using sprayer filled with cold water, lightly mist breadsticks. Let rise uncovered in warm draft-free area until puffy and light, about 30 minutes.
- Position 1 rack in lowest third of oven and 1 rack in center and preheat to 450°F. Brush breadsticks lightly with glaze. Sprinkle very lightly with coarse salt, if desired. Place baking sheets on racks in oven and spray oven with water. Bake 15 minutes, spraying oven with water every 5 minutes, spraying oven with water every 5 minutes. Continue baking without spraying until breadsticks are golden and sound hollow when tapped, about 15 minutes longer. Transfer breadsticks to racks; cool. (Can be made ahead. Wrap tightly in foil and freeze up to 2 weeks. Thaw breadsticks. If desired, rewarm wrapped sticks in 350°F oven 15 minutes.)
COPYCAT GARLIC BUTTER BREADSTICKS RECIPE BY TASTY

- Add the warm water to a large bowl with the melted butter, sugar and yeast. Stir to help the yeast dissolve and let the mixture sit for 5 minutes, or until it becomes foamy on top.
- Add in the flour and salt (optional) to the yeast mixture. Use a mixing spoon to incorporate the wet and dry ingredients until it comes together into a sticky ball.
- Cover the dough with a towel and place in a warm part of your kitchen. Let rise for 1½ hours, or until it doubles in size.
- Remove the risen dough from the bowl and knead on the counter with extra flour until the dough becomes smooth on the surface and no longer sticky.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F/200°C.
- With a rolling pin, flatten the dough until it's about a 7x12 inch (18x30 cm) rectangle, and slice into 12 strips. If you don't have a rolling pin, you can cut the dough into 12 portions and roll each into 7 inch (18 cm) logs with your hands.
- Place the dough on parchment paper-lined baking sheets with cooking spray.
- Brush melted butter and sprinkle garlic salt on the dough.
- Bake the breadsticks for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
- When the breadsticks come out of the oven, serve immediately, or cool and store in the freezer for up to 6 months to eat at a later date.
