Steps:
- Bring water to a boil in a heavy medium saucepan. Add rice and 1/4 teaspoon salt, then reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, until rice is tender, about 40 minutes. Drain in a sieve.
- Heat butter in a large heavy skillet over medium heat until foam subsides. Add nuts and cook, stirring, until butter and nuts are golden brown, about 4 minutes.
- Add rice and nutmeg to skillet and toss to coat.

- Cook the rice using the package directions, omitting the salt and margarine.
- Meanwhile, heat a small skillet over medium-high heat.
- Dry-roast the walnuts for 4 minutes, or until beginning to lightly brown, stirring constantly.
- Transfer the walnuts to a sheet of aluminum foil or a plate to prevent overcooking.
- When the rice is tender, stir in the walnuts and the remaining ingredients.

- Toast nuts in a small pan over low heat then remove from heat and reserve.
- Bring 3 cups stock and 2 tablespoons butter to a boil. Add rice, stir, then return to boil, cover and reduce heat. Simmer rice 17 to18 minutes, until tender and liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat. Add nuts and parsley as you fluff rice with fork. Transfer to serving dish.

- In a large saucepan with a tight-fitting lid, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion; cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and golden brown, about 8 minutes. Add garlic; cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Add 3 cups water; bring to a boil. Stir in wild-rice blend. Return to a boil; reduce heat to a simmer. Cover; cook over low heat until rice has absorbed all liquid, about 30 minutes. Remove from heat; let stand, covered, for 10 minutes.
- Transfer rice to a large bowl. Stir in walnuts, cranberries, and parsley; season again with salt and pepper. Serve immediately, or hold at room temperature for up to 5 hours.

Steps:
- Stir walnuts in medium nonstick skillet over medium heat until lightly toasted, about 3 minutes. Drizzle 2 tablespoons tamari over walnuts; stir until tamari coats walnuts, about 45 seconds. Cool. (Can be made 3 days ahead. Store at room temperature in airtight container.)
- Combine chicken, 2 tablespoons tamari and honey in medium bowl; toss to coat. Let stand 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over high heat. Add chicken and stir-fry 2 minutes. Add ginger and garlic and stir-fry 30 seconds. Add cooked rice and edamame; reduce heat to medium and stir-fry until heated through, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Divide rice mixture among plates. Sprinkle with green onions and walnuts.
