ASHLEY'S DEADLY BAKED MAC N CHEESE



Ashley's Deadly Baked Mac N Cheese image

This recipe was formed from left over cheese fondue from the night before, ive never liked baked mac n cheese until i made this!

2 -3 Kraft macaroni and cheese, boxes (reserve powdered cheese for later)
1/2 cup butter
2 cups cream or 2 cups milk
powdered cheese
1/2 cup cheddar cheese soup
1/4 cup sour cream
not quite a 1/4 cup white wine, plus (3/4 cups for yourself)
1 cup asiago cheese, grated
2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
1 teaspoon sage
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3 cups garlic or 3 cups herbed croutons

Steps:

  • Cook the 2 boxes of kraft dinner noodles AL DENTE,set aside.
  • In a saucepan on low-medium heat start adding:.
  • butter, cream, powdered cheese from each kraft dinner box,cream of cheddar soup,sour cream,white wine. keep stirring till smooth and creamy.
  • Next start adding 1 cup asiago cheese, 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese(reserve rest for later),stir until all cheese is melted.
  • Next add the sage,garlic powder,inion powder, and pepper.
  • keep stirring till everything is melted.
  • In a casserole dish, mix the cooked kraft dinner with 3/4 of the cheese sauce.sprinkle cheese over this.then add the rest of the cheese sauce .Top with 3 cups croutons and remaining cheese.
  • Bake in oven at 400 for about 30 minutes,or until it reaches a deep golden brown. Enjoy!

I call this deadly for two reasons: First, because it's just a "little" on the fattening, clog your arteries side of the food spectrum. Second, because it is just drop dead delicious!

1 lb elbow macaroni
6 slices bacon (I use maple-smoked)
3 -4 tablespoons flour
1 1/4 cups whole milk or 1 1/4 cups cream
1 teaspoon dried chives
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 1/2 cups shredded cheese (I use pepper jack or colby jack)

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to directions on the package, drain, and set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a large saucepan, fry the bacon until crispy then remove and crumble.
  • Add the flour to the bacon drippings (yummies) and cooking, stirring constantly, for about 2 minutes over low/medium-low heat.
  • Add the whole milk and whisk to combined; bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  • Remove from heat and add the chives, salt, pepper, onion powder, and cheese; stir to combined.
  • Add macaroni then pour into a grease 9"-13" glass pan; top with more cheese and bake for about 15 minutes or until cheese is golden.
  • Remove from the oven and let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Top with crumbled bacon before serving.

3-1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni (about 12 ounces)
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Few dashes hot pepper sauce
3-1/2 cups whole milk
5 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

Steps:

  • Cook macaroni in boiling water until almost tender; drain. Meanwhile, in a Dutch oven, melt butter. Stir in the flour, salt, mustard, pepper and pepper sauce until smooth. Cook for 1 minute or until bubbly. Stir in the macaroni, milk and 4 cups cheese. , Transfer to an ungreased 13x9-in. baking dish. Cover and bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes or until bubbly. Uncover; sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Cheddar and cream cheese add a sharp and slightly tangy flavor to the rich sauce which coats perfectly cooked pasta. It's a great base recipe that can be tweaked to your taste by switching up the cheeses or adding some cooked veggies. 1 (16 ounce) package elbow macaroni
4 teaspoons kosher salt, divided
2 (8 ounce) packages sharp Cheddar cheese
6 tablespoons butter
⅓ cup all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon ground mustard
3 ½ cups whole milk, or more to taste
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add macaroni and 2 ½ teaspoons salt and cook, stirring frequently, for 5 to 6 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • Shred Cheddar cheese by hand or in a food processor; set aside.
  • Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook, whisking constantly, until smooth, 3 to 4 minutes. Whisk in mustard powder, then 3 ½ cups milk. Whisk occasionally until mixture comes to a simmer, then let simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Add cream cheese and cook, stirring often, until thick, creamy, and smooth, about 5 minutes. Add remaining 1 ½ teaspoon salt, pepper, and cayenne.
  • Stir in 2 cups shredded Cheddar. Turn off the heat and let cheese melt. Stir in cooked macaroni. Add up to ¼ cup milk if you feel like the mixture is too thick.
  • Layer ½ of the pasta mixture in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Top with 1 ½ cups Cheddar. Spread remaining pasta mixture over top and sprinkle with remaining Cheddar.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden and bubbly, 25 to 30 minutes.
