Easy Garlic Bread image

This easy garlic bread will quickly become a favorite on your family dinner table. It is the perfect way to use up any leftover french bread, hamburger buns or sandwich rolls..

1 lb. French Bread (or leftover buns or rolls.)
1/2 cup Butter (softened)
1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese Powder
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp parsley (or other dried herb)

Steps:

  • Spread a layer of butter on each roll or bun.
  • Sprinkle with Parmesan Cheese
  • Sprinkle with other toppings of choice.
  • Place under broiler until cheese melts and begins to turn brown. Watch closely

This is a recipe for garlic and butter-lovers that uses up your day-old bread. The addition of basil gives it a slightly sweet taste to offset the bite of the garlic.

4 slice day old bread (any, including buns)
4 tablespoon Butter or spread (I use Smart Balance)
4 clove garlic 1 per serving or to your taste
2 teaspoon Dried basil

Steps:

  • Pull out whatever day old bread you have. Can be sandwich bread, hamburger or hot dog buns, biscuits, etc. Put butter, garlic and basil in a small bowl. Microwave until melted (20-30 seconds). If you like your garlic more cooked to lessen the bite, add 10-30 seconds. Spread garlic butter onto bread. Put in toaster oven on 'toast' directly on the rack. If the top isn't quite brown enough, broil for another minute or so. If you don't have a toaster oven, use your big oven, preheat the oven to 350°F. Also, line a baking sheet with aluminum foil to catch drips. Prepare as directed, but adjust cooking time accordingly (about 15 min). If the rack bars are too widely spaced to hold the bread, put the bread on your broiling pan or a smaller rack from a roasting pan.
