LEMON VODKA

Steps:

• In a saucepan, bring the juice, zest and sugar to a boil. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Cool.
• In a bottle or a sealed glass container, combine the syrup and vodka. Allow to infuse in a dark area for 7 or more days.
• Place a coffee filter in a strainer and filter the alcohol.
• Store in the freezer until ready to serve.

Steps:

• Place lemons and vodka in the jar; seal. Place in a dark, cool place.
• Test for flavor after one week. Continue to taste until vodka has taken on the depth of flavor you prefer; remove and discard lemons, seal jar and enjoy!
• Fill a tall glass with desired amount of crushed ice. Add lemon-infused vodka and fill with tonic water.

VODKA LEMONADE

Steps:

• In a saucepan, combine the sugar and 1/3 cup water and place over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, then cook the sugar until dissolved but the syrup is still clear. Do not cook the sugar until it starts to turn color. Remove from heat and cool.
• In a pitcher, combine the syrup, 8 cups water, the lemon juice, vodka and ice and stir to combine. Pour into tall glasses and enjoy!

LIMONCELLO

Steps:

• Zest the lemons, and place zest into a large glass bottle or jar. Pour in vodka. Cover loosely and let infuse for one week at room temperature.
• After one week, combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Do not stir. Boil for 15 minutes. Allow syrup to cool to room temperature.
• Stir vodka mixture into syrup. Strain into glass bottles, and seal each bottle with a cork. Let mixture age for 2 weeks at room temperature.
• Place bottled liqueur into the freezer. When icy cold, serve in chilled vodka glasses or shot glasses.

LEMON INFUSED VODKA RECIPE

Steps:

• Gather the ingredients.
• In a 1-quart (or larger) jar, pour the vodka and add the lemon peels. Seal, shake, and let infuse for 4 to 7 days. Shake the jar daily and test the infusion after the third or fourth day to see how the flavor develops.
• Once the infusion reaches your desired flavor intensity, strain out and discard the lemon peels using a fine-mesh strainer.
• Bottle the lemon vodka under a tight seal. Store in a cool, dark place as you would other liquors, and use in your favorite drinks.

Steps:

• Using a vegetable peeler, remove peel from lemons in large strips, making sure not to remove any of the white pith. Reserve lemons for another use.

Steps:

• Prepare the vodka at least 48 hours early. Place peppercorns and lemon zest in vodka, recork and leave to macerate 24 hours. Then place in freezer until ready to serve.
• To keep the vodka icy cold at a picnic, start at home by placing the bottle in a larger container, such as a milk carton. Fill the container with water and freeze. When ready to set out, remove the carton and wrap the icy block of vodka in a towel.
