This is a granola recipe fortified with wheat germ and flax seed that still tastes good.

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 cups rolled oats
1 cup wheat germ
½ cup flax seed meal
½ cup sliced almonds
½ cup walnuts
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
5 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
2 tablespoons agave nectar
3 tablespoons (blank) sugar-free pancake syrup

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet.
  • Mix oats, wheat germ, flax seed meal, almonds, walnuts, and cinnamon together in a large bowl. Whisk applesauce, agave syrup, and pancake syrup together in a separate bowl; drizzle over the oats mixture and stir until evenly coated. Spread oats mixture onto prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake, stirring every 20 minutes, in preheated oven until golden brown, about 45 minutes; cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 cups rolled oats
2 cups unsweetened coconut
2 cups slivered almonds
1 cup cashews
3/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup honey
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 cups of your favorite dried fruit, such as dates and dried cherries, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Combine the oats, coconut, almonds, cashews, oil, honey, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl, and toss together to coat. Spread evenly on a baking sheet. Bake until golden, 30 minutes. Let cool completely on the baking sheet. Add the dried fruit and serve. If not using right away, store in an airtight container, adding the dried fruit to order.
