SPICED NUTS 'N CHEX® MIX (1/2 RECIPE)

Steps:

• In small bowl, mix sugar, chili powder and red pepper.
• In large microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 30 seconds or until melted. Stir in cereal and nuts until evenly coated. Stir in sugar mixture until evenly coated.
• Microwave uncovered on High 3 to 4 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes, until mixture just begins to brown. Spread on waxed paper; cool about 15 minutes. Store in airtight container.

SPICED NUTS AND CHEX® MIX

Steps:

• In small bowl, mix sugar, chili powder and red pepper.
• In large microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in cereal and nuts until evenly coated. Stir in sugar mixture until evenly coated.
• Microwave uncovered on High 4 to 5 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes, until mixture just begins to brown. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container.

SPICED NUTS CHEX™ PARTY MIX

Steps:

• In large bowl, mix cereals and almonds. Line cookie sheet with waxed paper or foil.
• In 2-cup measure, beat egg white with fork. Mix sugar, salt and spices together in small bowl. Pour egg white over cereal; sprinkle with sugar-spice mixture.
• Microwave on High 3 to 4 minutes, stirring after every minute until cereal and nuts are browned and sound crisp when stirred with spoon. Pour onto waxed paper to cool. Store tightly covered.

SPICED PEPITAS AND PECANS

Steps:

• Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
• In a large bowl, beat the egg whites and water until frothy. In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, allspice, cumin, salt and cayenne. Stir the sugar mixture into the egg whites, then add the pepitas and pecans. Toss until the nuts are completely coated.
• Evenly spread the nuts on the prepared baking sheet. Bake 20 to 30 minutes, until crispy. Let cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
