Garlic Herb Butter image

Elevate your dish with this flavorful garlic herb butter. Prepped in just 10 minutes with 5 simple ingredients. Great for adding to meat, bread, vegetables and more.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 cup unsalted butter ((softened))
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt ((omit if using salted butter))
1/8 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
1-2 Tablespoons freshly chopped herbs ((such as rosemary, thyme, chives, parsley or sage))

Steps:

  • In the bowl of an electric mixer, add your softened butter, garlic, salt, pepper and herbs. Mix for 1-2 minutes or until nice and fluffy. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Place the butter on a piece of plastic wrap and roll into a log or place in a small mason jar. Store in the refrigerator for at least one hour, or until ready to serve. This recipe also can be stored in the freezer.
  • When ready to serve allow to sit out for 10 minutes to soften slightly.

Stuff this under the skin of a chicken with extra garlic, use it for garlic bread, a small disc in the center of a hamburger, or use as a "condiment" for fish and seafood. Adapted from "How to Grill" by Raichlen. You've got to check that book out.

4 tablespoons butter, room temperature
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 teaspoon parsley
1 1/2 tablespoons basil
1 tablespoon oregano

Steps:

  • Beat all ingredients together with a fork until light and fluffy.
  • Place on plastic wrap and roll into a log.
  • Twist ends of plastic wrap to"seal" butter inches.
  • Store in freezer, and cut off discs of butter as needed.
  • You can store this in the fridge, but beware it will not last as long if you use fresh ingredients.
  • Try adding chives, rosemary, or tarragon.

Besides, plussed-up butter is the easiest way to elevate a special dinner, especially in summer when the gardens and markets are bursting with fresh herbs. Chives, rosemary, oregano and garlic star in this recipe but really you could go in any direction you wish-lemon zest is a wonderful addition to compound butter.

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh oregano leaves
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh chives
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
Salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • In medium bowl, mix all ingredients.
  • Spoon mixture onto piece of cooking parchment paper. Roll to create log shape. Twist ends of paper to seal.
  • Refrigerate log until firm, about 3 hours. Slice into "coins" to serve.

Liz's Easy Garlic Herb Butter image

I enjoy going to the grocery store, buying a product that I enjoy and finding a way to make it homemade and less expensive. Sometimes being on a tight budget does not mean you have to sacrifice the quality of the food you cook. I don't cook gourmet or better all the time but sometimes simple things can really turn a simple meal into something better. You can use fresh herbs if you prefer but I just use the Herbs I have handy in my herb rack. This garlic herb recipe is something I just tried one day for kicks and now I love it. I'm never buying it in a store again and hopefully you will love it too. This garlic herb butter goes wonderfully with ANYTHING. Use it with rice, meats, potatoes, and vegetables. Enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 pinches dried marjoram
2 pinches dried thyme
2 pinches dried rosemary
2 pinches dried basil
1 pinch dried bay leaf (chopped not whole leaves)
1 cup unsalted butter
2 garlic cloves, grated
lemon juice (very very little amount)

Steps:

  • Make sure that your butter is softened. NOT MELTED.
  • Put all of your ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat it until everything is mixed well and incorporated. Your butter will probably be a little creamy.
  • Scrape the bowl and put your garlic butter in a container that has a lid and close the lid completely to make sure that no outside air will come inches
  • Stick your dish in either the fridge or your freezer.
  • I like to make this butter a day in advance so all of the ingredients can hang out. You don't have to let it sit if you need to use it immediately.
  • NOTE : Keep in mind that a little will go a long way.
