TUNA STEAKS WITH CREAMY SHRIMP SAUCE

Tuna Steaks With Creamy Shrimp Sauce image

This is the best dinner I've ever made ! I got the recipe from another website....I know that's not sexy but, trust me the dish is. It taste like something out of a resturant. I doubled the sauce but, you don't have to. Also it seems like a lot of onions but, it all blends together nicley in the end. I hope you make it. You'll love it !

Yield 6

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 cup Italian salad dressing
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon red pepper
1/2 teaspoon tarragon leaf
2 lbs tuna steaks (1 inch thick)
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped green onion
1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
1 cup cream cheese
1 cup half-and-half cream
1 cup chopped cooked shrimp
2 tablespoons chopped parsley

Steps:

  • Combine salad dressing, lemon juice, garlic powder, red pepper, and tarragon leaves in a 2-quart mixing bowl. Blend thoroughly. Add tuna steaks to the blended marinade sauce, coating each steak thoroughly with the sauce. Cover tuna steaks and refrigerate at least 2 hours or preferably overnight. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Remove tuna steaks from marinade sauce and place in 2-quart casserole dish. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes, turning steaks once.
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onions, green onions, and bell pepper. Saute until onions are clear. Add cream cheese and half & half. Stir over low heat until cream cheese melts and sauce thickens. Add chopped shrimp and parsley to sauce.
  • Blend thoroughly and cook sauce over low heat until tuna steaks are removed from oven. Remove steaks from oven. Drain liquids from casserole. Pour shrimp sauce over tuna steaks. Place steaks in oven and bake an additional 10 minutes.

MARINATED TUNA WITH SPICED SPROUTS

Marinated Tuna with Spiced Sprouts image

Provided by Food Network

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pound skinless, boneless tuna, such as Hawaiian yellow fin
1/2 cup rice wine vinegar
2 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons mirin
2 tablespoons freshly grated ginger
2 (2ounce) packages daikon spiced sprouts, roots trimmed
1/2 medium red onion, shredded

Steps:

  • Using a sharp, wet knife, thinly slice tuna along grain using a long, horizontal sawing motion. The easiest way to do this is to press the fish down with one hand and cut slices off the top. Cover four serving plates with tuna. The lined plates may be reserved in refrigerator, covered with plastic wrap, up to 4 hours.
  • Mix vinegar, soy sauce, mirin, and ginger in a small bowl and spread about 2 tablespoons over each serving, evenly coating fish. Divide sprouts and arrange in a small fan on the side of each plate. Divide the red onion and place in a small mound at root end of sprouts. Spoon a bit of dressing over sprouts and serve immediately.

Time 2h25m

Yield 4 to 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/4 cup picholine olive brine
1/3 cup freshly squeezed Meyer lemon juice
1 pound sushi-quality yellow fin tuna, thinly sliced across the grain
3 ounces (about 18) picholine olives, pitted and slivered
Freshly ground black pepper
1 bulb fennel, thinly sliced
2 Meyer lemons, zested

Steps:

  • In a glass baking dish or a wide, shallow, nonreactive bowl, mix together olive brine and lemon juice. Gently toss in tuna slices and olive slivers. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours, occasionally moving tuna slices around gently in marinade to ensure that slices cure evenly.
  • Just before serving, strain the tuna slices from marinade. Divide tuna between 4 to 6 appetizer plates. Spoon a little marinade (with olive slivers) over the tuna. Grind black pepper, to taste, over each serving. Garnish with fennel and lemon zest, and serve immediately.

PAPPASITO'S BROCHETTE SHRIMP - COPYCAT RECIPE

Pappasito's Brochette Shrimp - Copycat Recipe image

When I was in college, I worked at Pappasito's as a waitress. I LOVED their brochette shrimp and I asked the cook for the recipe. He didn't give me the exact measurements, but he did give me the list of ingredients. I went home and played around with the quantities of the ingredeints and came up with what I think is very close to the real thing!
