1 cup vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 dozen rhodes frozen cinnamon roll dough

Steps:

  • Bring first 4 ingredients to a boil for 2-3 minutes.
  • Let mixture cool.
  • Grease 8x10 pan.
  • Arrange frozen rolls in the pan.
  • Pour cooled mixture over rolls.
  • Lightly grease plastic wrap or aluminum foil and cover rolls.
  • Leave out overnight.
  • Preheat oven toe 350.
  • Cook 20-30 minutes.
  • When slightly cooled, frost with included icing.

¾ cup milk
¾ cup water
½ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
5 teaspoons active dry yeast
5 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup margarine, melted

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, warm milk, water, sugar and salt. Remove from heat, and mix in the eggs and yeast.
  • Measure flour into a large bowl. Make a well in the flour, and pour milk mixture into it. Do not stir. Cover with a lid, and let stand for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Pour melted margarine into flour, and mix well. Add more flour if too sticky. Knead lightly. Cover, and let rise for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Shape the dough into rolls, and place on a baking sheet. Let rise again for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Bake rolls in a preheated 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) oven for 15 minutes, or until done.

12 Rhodes White Texas Rolls or 24 Rhodes Dinner Rolls, thawed but still cold
4 cups sliced cabbage
1 cup sliced yellow onion
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
8 ounces ground beef
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Saute cabbage and onion in oil. Cover and steam for 30 minutes. Brown ground beef in a large pan, and drain well. Add cabbage, onion, sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Flatten each Texas roll, or 2 dinner rolls into a 6-inch circle. Divide filling among 12 circles (about 1/3 cup). Place 1 tablespoon mozzarella cheese on top of filling. Pull edges around filling and pinch to close. Place on a large sprayed baking sheet, pinched side down. Brush tops with melted butter. Bake at 350°F 30-35 minutes.
